GoG buys out Steam?

Don't forget Bullfrog. I'm guessing EA too, since that is the holy grail of old IPs. With EA on board, GOG could release 2 insta-buy games per week for the next year or so.

Atari own the Microprose rights, with a few exceptions (Sid Meier got the rights for all his games back, for example).

Which would include the rights for SMAC. Interesting. I wonder if that makes it potentially easier or harder for GOG to get his games.
Still, I doubt even Sid Meier alone would justify a big countdown like this.

So a little one was the free tex murphy. Second, gog will be out of beta, then we will see the big site update to make the site "final". Third, since it's out of beta, the site is kinda prepared to receive major publishers. (and bringing EA or Activision first will attract all the others). ;)

I doubt it's Deus Ex. Somehow, that seems too simple. I'm in the "it's a new publisher" camp... hopefully one of the legendary ones that we've all been clamoring for since GoG's foundation, like EA or Lucasarts.

It has to be a big publisher with lots of games on the top of the wishlist. I don't think we're getting any unforeseen surprises, but more like getting granted a pretty big wish. It's the only way something like this would be "unexcelled", which by the way, makes me wonder if the choice of the word has more to do with the GOG staff not having english as their first language than a hidden clue in it, though I'm just guessing.
I'm personally hoping for EA. It would really help EA's image to show they can ease up with the DRM schemes on old games, plus there's loads of games there I would splurge on.

Agreed, I find it difficult to be. Only if the new publisher is Eidos/Square then we will see this game.
I see no point in making a countdown for a specific game or game series only.
