Gundato: I can't really read the polish article, but the two twitters are the ones I remember. People took "huge" to mean "Top three" to mean "EA".

It's translated: "One of the 3 biggest game publishers will add their games to the GOG catalogue early next year."
Google translation of the other text (courtesy of Miaghstir): "In the first quarter of next year in the directory there will be playing one of the three major publishers and aims to be the biggest event in the history of GOGA. Preparing the big change in the site."

Top three was mentioned somewhere. Now they're saying they won't be able to top it. So, unless they've over-hyped it, there aren't a great many alternatives. It's either EA or Actiblizz and Actiblizz aren't high in the Wish List. So...

Fair enough.
There is no way this is simply a new game, it has to be a new and very big publisher, one of the ones we have been begging for since day one. That means it must be someone like EA or LucasArts... or even one of the now defunct publishers like MicroProse or Sierra.
Either way, the wording of the statement "Expect the unexcelled" has to be significant in some way. Every time they do something like this, the wording is intentionally obscure but does hint directly at whatever is coming.
If we assume that this must be a publisher announcement and therefore the word "unexcelled" means, "no other publisher is bigger than this one" then you have to end up with EA, since they are the top PC game publisher in the world and have been for a very long time. If it is EA, then we potentially don't just get the "big ones" from the wishlist, we could also get some obscure gems like Starflight or The Bard's Tale. This could be huge for GOG.
Of course, this is all just random speculation, it could just be Big Rigs, which is unexcelled as being the worst game of all time.
I already have Deus Ex (original disc from about a week after it was first released), and it even works fine under Vista 64. I played it again recently and while it manages to be ok, it shows its age in several things and not just the graphics.
So, I can't say I would go crazy for it, in fact, I wouldn't care (for myself).
EA would be great because of the mind boggling amount of titles under their belt.
Probably the most difficult though since, well, it's EA!
Of course, Ubisoft released games here so who knows...
LucasArts would be good too. So many good Star Wars games (Rebellion which doesn't even install under my Vista 64 :( ) and all the flight sims. Yes, many great adventure games too, but I played them to death back in the day.
Blizzard, well, I am one of the few people who don't find anything too good from them, but Activision sure has lots of titles.
It could be the Elite series.
I don't know what it will be, I hope it is something good for all, and it will probably be.
My only fear is that GOG doesn't give away too much to allow some EA or something to come aboard. Impulse showed themselves the chickens they are and many if not most of the new games there come with Securom and Tages, which is hilarious coming from the company who claimed DRM is the evil of gaming (in some wording or another)
Thank you to GOG team whatever it is.

Baldur's Gate I and II, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale - All available on Thursday.
At least, that's what I have my fingers crossed for.
But even if it's not, whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be F*cking amazing.

Although I doubt Sierra's big enough to warrant all this, I'd love to see the City Building Series on board, among others.

I don't think that even GOG, teases though they are, would put up a counter for one game, even one as notoriously terrible as Big Rigs.

could easily be microsoft flight sims
there was a version of Excel that had a flight sim in it, it was later patched out, unexcelled, if you will.
I just want the Wing Commander games.
They're SO HARD to get running on anything post Windows 95.
That would be EA right? Didn't EA buy Origin back in the day?

Wow. That is totally irrelevant and meaningless.

You know, I just thought of Microsoft. As unlikely as it sounds, they did publish some awesome old games - Age of Empires and AoE II come to mind, as do Monster Truck Madness 2, Midtown Madness 2, and Motocross Madness 2.

Yeah, that would be EA. One of the many IPs they since haven't used.
Oh lairdy, I can't wait.
