On the front page GOG has begun counting down to next Thursday with the message "Expect the Unexcelled". Obviously this is one of GOG's major first quarter announcements. But what is it?
Official Hints:
1. The return of incredible karmic awareness.
2. Where history overlaps with the present time.
3. They are two different characters, but they complement each other beautifully.
4. A messenger is not named for a soldier, but precedes one.
5. Ohio's secret place.
Let the random speculation commence!

Very weird choice of words. Obviously some kind of clue. Expect the Unexcelled? Good games that didn't sell well?
- Some major release we've been waiting for? (Baldur's Gate, System Shock.. etc)
- A redone webpage?
- Steam-like client? (hope not)
- No more beta?
- Free game?
I see the graphic as the attachment shows, stuck at 57 minutes, not next Thursday.

If it's related to new publisher partner, My 'safest' bet is either id software or LucasArts. They have experienced success recently in distributing their old games through DD channels, and I assume they're not as 'difficult' as the big publishers (EA/Activision/SE-Eidos) to secure a deal.
Edit: Oh, and the countdown timer seems fine on my side.

GOG acquired by Activision for $500,000.
It has a space background, and it's clearly something held in high regard.
This could mean the Lucasarts back catalogue, or System Shock 2, or...I can't think of too many other options - maybe Wing Commander?
Gosh, maybe even Ultima.

Hehe, it's going to be revealed to you a lot sooner than anyone else.
Must be a problem your end as it's fine for me.
Hmm, wording does sound contrived. Deus Ex?

Gosh, maybe even Ultima.

If it was it would mean EA are on board with GOG. That would be answering a lot of prayers.
Adjective: unexcelled ,ún-ik'seld
1. Not capable of being improved on
- unexceeded, unsurpassed
Well, they got my attention . . .=)
Timer working on Firefox 3.6 as well.

Possibly, I'm using IE8 and just patched it about 30 minutes ago, maybe the new security patch has caused the issue.
EDIT: While I closed out of the browser and reloaded earlier without success, after having done so again, now suddenly the timer does work. :) Either quick bug fix by the GOG team or a random glitch I guess.

I would like to see Blizzard's old games like Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, Lost Vikings and Blackthorne.
I love how no matter what the hint, people always just go to what they want :p
What we know:
Space background showing a light beyond a horizon
Something important/desired enough to merit a countdown.
"Unexcelled", which is defined as "to surpass others or be superior in some respect or area".
My vote goes toward a massive pun on MS Excel, and we are going to get some better way to track our stuff :p. Or more variety in pricing (Because they switched from an Excel spreadsheet that only had two pricing points :p).
Unexcelled...
Excella...
Resident Evil...
CAPCOM...
Megaman!

Actually I would say thats a pretty good guess. Unexcelled does sound like a play on words.
