Id love to see MSX games. :p
Putting my dreams aside, I agree it sounds more like a big publisher coming to GOG.
Oh my goodness, that was posted on page 3 before Mikee said a suggestion was right. So I finally choose this one, since this would really be unexcelled. Early console games on PC legally. Maybe even in versions especially reworked for PC. Dozens of good RPGs, the best Jump'n'Runs, etc.
Strengths of PCs and consoles united. A huge deal with Nintendo, Microsoft (Excel pun), Sega or Sony...
[/dreams]

Dreams they shall remain I fear. It's possible Capcom, Sega, Namco and SNK would be persuaded (After all Sega, Namco and SNK are nothing but prostitutes these days). But you will never ever persuade the big N that the PC is for anything other then word processing and counting how much money Pokémon makes.
Classic Capcom would be the most likely out of those options as one of the GOG guys did ask us months ago what Capcom games we would be interested in. And their main PC publisher until recently was Ubisoft.

There are a lot in the list that wouldnt warrant a countdown timer.
Thanks for doing this...I'll be honest, I thought it was a good idea, but didn't want to do it.
Rockin'
And we get a :) in response.....

This
Or System Shock 2 because it's been unexcelled on the wishlist and probably always will be. Which means it's a game everyone wants, so it will be unexcelled. That also means EA :)))))))))))

In my opinion, GoG coming out of Beta or any game that is on other services like Steam (Deus Ex for example) wouldn't justify a countdown.
It must be some rare games (like Grim Fandango) or publishers with a lot of good games in their catalogue.

Well, I too had a look at the code for the front page, and noticed that the counter is constructed of these two images: and [url=http://www.gog.com/upload/strony_www/countdown/en/img/flip.png]flip.png. I had the weird idea that since PNGs support transparency, then you could hide information in plain view by embedding it in a mostly transparent image, and overlaying that on another image. You could too, but unfortunately, GOG hasn't done so. The flip.png simply makes the "flip crease" in the, uhm, flippers. I suppose the reason it's overlaid rather than just being a part of the background image, is to apply the effect to the numbers also.
So, another failed attempt to crack the code, so to speak ;-)

It is NOT GOG coming out of beta. Quote from Mikee:
"But hints were given. And this is gonna be the biggest announcement ever in the GOG history (maybe except the opening of the site itself but this is different category;)."
It's in a different category from opening the site. Also coming out of Beta is hardly the "Biggest announcement ever in the GOG history".
Sheesh some people are such killjoys.
