Arteveld: Neither did I, nor the MGS series, they're kinda like Metallica, a lot of fuss about nothing much special.
FFT? I've seen a gameplay movie from that today, not really my style [but i'd love to check it out somehow]. I'm a BIIIIIG, and i mean, BIIIIG Jagged Alliance fan, so i guess it wouldnt impress me, but who knows.;)
And i don't own a console, never had, and i guess i never will.;P [and before someone calls me bad names i do emulate, cant get enough of A Link To The Past;P]

Well since you emulate you can get ePSXe.
It's not as easy to use as ZSNES or anything but it's pretty simple.
But from the sounds of it you're not really interested in JRPG's.
FFT's probably not really you're thing.

vlight: Google Alerts?

Nope, Google Skills! ;)
Well, no more work for me this week, that's a given.
This thread was quite the ride and my brain is all but wasted. Or maybe that's from all the cheap wine, i dunno...
Anyway, what better way to recover than staying at home enjoying the new GOG releases ?
AM I RIGHT ?

Does Sierra (Activision) still hold the rights to the great Impressions games (Zeus: Master of Olympus, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, etc)? If so, city builder fans will be in heaven shortly... ;-)

TrIp13G: I just realized something. Doesn't sierra own the bulk of the rights to No One Lives Forever?
avatar
Kaidane: Since NOLF 1 was published by Fox Interactive (now part of Activision Blizzard), and Sierra published NOLF 2, they could very well put them on GOG.

That's exactly what I was looking for, thank you. As I already own both games on disc, I'd still like them to become available here. They're great, and sorely in need of a proper sequel.

Wolfox: Well, I guess I'll have to wait for THQ to show on GOG then... ;-)

Relic were bought by THQ and Homeworld was a part of the package. I'd certainly buy them if they showed up here. .

Kaidane: Check the last few pages. :)

DUH . . . my bad . . . shows what happens if you stop to eat . . . .=)

On a side note, if you want deep complex strategy and gameplay, you -might- want to try Final Fantasy Tactics. However, if you aren't a FF fan, then there are probably better turn-based strategy games out there, like Disgaea (never played, just heard about).
Ooh...FFT counts as a GOG. Unfortunately, never released to the PC...

I'm half tempted to get a PSP just to play FFT: War of the Lions, and I already have FFT. It's that good.

I just got FFT last night. I'd be playing it now but for physics two homework ;)

I did try ePSXe, but the games had a lot of problems, especially FFVII. I gave up early on i guess.I habe ZSNES! :) That's where i go for my dose of Zelda and Arkanoid: Doh it again with my friend! ;)
I'm usually pretty good with emulators, ePSXe seems a bit touchy, like WinUAE. Maybe that's the thing. Never had a problem with WinVICE and DosBOX, but i've been raised on a c64 and early dos, so that may be why.;)
Yeah, jrpg's are not really my thing, though i guess i should finish one, for the sake of just that.;) FFT looks kinda cute... is there a legal way to obtain games like that for emulation via direct download? I don't really want a console, that requires a TV usually...;P

Now that we're totally off-topic, I have to recommend FFT:A2 (a DS title) which I enjoyed immensely. If you tried FFT:Advance, know now that A2 is similar, but vastly better in almost every way, mainly in terms of execution.

Well I suggest Gabriel Knight. It is an awesome game. I think I wrote it before but... I already have
GK1 and GK2
All King's Quest games
Arcanum
All Space Quest games
Damn.I buy collections a lot! GK came with the novel, the KQ collection came with the wonderful Laura Bow games, the SQ games are from the Vivendi collection (which by the way the freaking PDF manuals don't come WITH ALL THE COPY PROTECTION needed to play one or two titles, thank you Google).
What I need to complete it:
GK3
KQ8
Arcanum is buggy. Some quests have bugs, these bugs prevents them from being completed. The bugs are uncommon so you should save a lot using different slots to prevent a restart. Its a great RPG, if you liked the Fallout games and its sense of humor, you will definitely like Arcanum, which by the way you can also select the path of good or evil.
Gabriel Knight,Gabriel Knight,Gabriel Knight...What can be said besides that it is a gothic masterpiece mystery adventure game?Umm.....If you are planning to buy this game I STRONGLY suggest to not read anything wiki or "encyclopedia" web sites about it, it might spoil it. I played this at first game without knowing nothing about it except that it was a great adventure game and had a great experience,a well done game for mature audiences.
Now...Here's hoping for Phantasmagoria,GK3,KQ8.

Oh come on! Go for them all! All Police Quest games [they were pretty cool], and the even better Quest for Glory titles!
I envy You, Quests were never really distributed in Poland, only the SCI remakes [SQ1, PQ1, QGF1, and one or two KQ's], i got my SQs from a distant family in the US, on 3,5 inch diskettes [still have them around], and just like Your SQ collection, my SQ 1-3 were given to me, without the manuals [and boxes for that matter!]. Can't even count the times i've restarted SQ1 just to get the 2 copy protection codes [a game magazine printed one cartridge and one sector code] in one game. Never did... ;)
Ok, end of my manic OT'ing, it's 3:30AM here. Nights! Thanks for all the fun with guessing the publisher!

I have literally fallen asleep playing FFTA before. And I don't mean I got bored, I mean I played the dang thing lying in bed 'til 2 in the morning. Still haven't figured out whether that game caused or cured my insomnia.
...looking forward to FFT, should be a awesome ride.
Umm...I wonder if GOG will get irritated that we're discussing PS1 games here...
...is there a forum for stuff like this?

Wealin: All King's Quest games

A couple years ago I bought the KQ collection (7 games) for about 5 dollars. The store wanted to get rid of it. If the games show up on gog catalog I hope they'll sell the 8th separately. :P
So, now that we know that it really is Activision, does this change anyone's opinions of Bobby Kotick? Or better yet, anyone regret any of the negative things we have said about him?
