so did anyone got or plans to get the full version?
I just bought it. Never really tried the mmorpg (except Eve) so next month i am out of school so i might as well try it. and i luv star trek the nerd i am so ST:O seems perfect.

Yup. I ended up pre-ordering from D2D UK. Haven't gotten to play much during the pre-start as the only times I appear to be able to play are when the server is down =/ As I said somewhere else, I'm really enjoying the space combat now, but the away team stuff still doesn't really impress me.

I got to the point of adding it to my cart in steam but never finished the purchase. I was mostly playing the beta with fenixp & maighstir but neither of them got the full one so I decided to pass
I figure I might get it down the line if & when its on sale, the additional bonus being that they'll have killed the old bugs and introduced a fresh crop that I didn't see in the beta

I'll get the full one when it come to Sweden. February 2nd at the earliest, apparently.

I am giving STO maybe a year or so at most unless the developers really come up with something that will not bore players to death after a months time of playing.
Pew-pew, kill stuff, die and respawn 5 seconds later, rince and repeat ad infinitum is not exactly my kind of formula. As a rather big Star Trek fan, I'm rather bitter about the whole game just being the same old, boring formula, except for it being in a franchise space setting rather than your average human/dwarf/elf setting.
Probably why EVE is the only game that has managed to truly captivate me =/

I understand why people would enjoy EVE Online, but that crap is just too much. I can't stand that much micro-managing.
I really, really like ST:O, and I am currently playing the early start program, thanks to my pre-ordering. If anyone here has made a fleet yet, let me know.

I got the retail version. I joined a random fleet so they would have enough members to start but would be more then willing to drop it if people want to start a GOG fleet. my handle for the game is Six@madcartoonist

I'm up for it if we all have a time in common. Impressed that they kept the friends list divorced from the game so it wasn't lost when the beta was wiped

been playing yesterday a bit.
how to change uss to NX marking (i got the deluxe edition) (what does USS even stands for :) )
and just did my first mission but the game crashes when i return to sol and had to restart it :(

Well, I have the wonderful "your DDE bonus items don't exist" bug, so I'm still stuck with a U.S.S. prefix =/
You also need to be careful of where you decide to park while trying to assign points. Twice now I've randomly been pulled into Deep Space Encounters while trying to work out where to put points.
And I have a feeling my ignore list will get rather long. Bloody gold farmers.

A change to the NX prefix is probably done at the shipyard in spacedock, the same place you can customise your ship.
USS apparently stands for United Space Ship

Have you looked in the C-Store? I had to get my bonus armour from there. Its in the dropdown menu to the right of the map, there's a tab for unlockables

Yeah the spam was pretty heavy when I was playing a while ago. They also were doing it in the beta, wonder if anyone fell for it, be funny since the beta was wiped

what one does with the radiation, mineral samples, alien artifacts etc.

They're for upgrading equipment. You get a half dozen samples and take them to memory alpha and the commander chick there can do stuff to your equipment (ooh er) like giving it a better critical chance and the like
