What's that coming over the hill?

Iron Harvest is coming soon, DRM-free to GOG.com.
The Great War is over but the giant mechs that took part in it are still roaming the streets of the three dominant European empires. Now a new threat is working secretly to try and spark another conflict, which could throw the continent into chaos. Manage your squads of heroes, soldiers, and badass mechs in sandbox levels full of dynamic RTS objectives that can be tackled in more ways that one.

Check out the game's Kickstarter campaign here.
Just received confirmation from KING Art that Iron Harvest is officially only supported on Win10 for the time being.
But they also stressed that this doesn't rule out the subsequent extension of support to Win7 and 8 during development.

So there's still hope.
I guess quite a few people a.k.a. potential backers will be put off by the Win10 exclusivity no matter what.

Makes me wonder if there are actually any games since the launch of Win10 that only run on Win10?

I think coming soon is a bit of a leap, I have been watching this game from the very beginning and we are only just seeing Alpha footage, I'm glad to see it coming to gog however.
I have no immediate interest in playing this but I could love an artbook.

$45. *sad*
But it does look like a great game for those who can afford to get it.
I've seen this guy's artwork, never thought it would turn into a RTS game. Backed on kickstarter :-)

The only ones I know about are Microsoft's own productions. It's basically like exclusives on consoles. I doubt many dev teams want to limit their software exclusively to Windows 10, unless they receive some major funding from MS. As far as I'm concerned, any game that's exclusive to Windows 10 can fuck off, including this one ( if it turns out to be ).

On topic: Not normally into war games, but I like the mix of historical setting and Sci-Fi/ Steampunk elements. Looks fairly interesting. Of course the release is still far away, and I'm not interested enough to support its development/ pre-order it.
Well the good news is that the kickstarter already reached 36% of funding till now (on day one) so this will most definitely get funded. The question only is what will all be in the game at the end.

Lifthrasil: OK, the art looks amazing. But there isn't any game behind it yet.
But there is:

It's a boardgame, granted - but a very well received one.
Interested in this but... Win 10 only? This looks like something I would normally back but that exculsivity to Win 10 puts me off quite a bit. I'll just wait till it's released and see where it goes. Looks very nice and I'll be checking out the boardgame.
It seems to me like the game's status is just "COMING SOON", not "PREORDER NOW, YOU PLEBS!". Worst case scenario: The game fails to meet its Kickstarter goal and GOG has to remove/archive the store entry again. Doesn't seem like much of a PR disaster, compared with the bugs and glaring design flaws on the site and the forums... :/

As for the 2019 release date: Games like The Swords of Ditto were announced when the world was still young{{Citation Needed}} but still aren't out. "An indetermined amount of time" doesn't seem too different to "an indetermined amount of time plus 31 days".

Also GOG's community seems to be big into Kickstarter, so this doesn't seem too outlandish of a step - just a bit too optimistic...

On the other hand this could just be me suffering from complaining burnout. :p

Nice. I have to try it some time. Thanks!

But not what I meant. The game isn't even in development yet, but GOG already advertises it. That's like John Romero bragging about Daikatana before they even started programming.
Might be the first RTS in a long time for me when it gets released; looks really interesting.

Hope they get enough money from Microsoft to cover what the disappointed potential backers will withhold.

Not going to see a dime of my money, that's for sure.
Saw the game page, and the painted static arts and such...

It really sends me strong vibes of the physical boardgame called Scythe !

are there is there any connection between both (people involved in the team or whatever) ?

iron harvest and scythe are both based on the same artists work, the '1920+' universe
