KEgstedt: It's the full talkie version of Gabriel Knight!
I know a few adventures that I would buy again if it is full talkie. *hints*
Oh, and there are four more games to be announced soon.
http://www.gog.com/en/page/month_of_activision

I see FIVE game! And the page source agrees ^^.
Also,
seen in the Big Download interview http://news.bigdownload.com/2010/01/28/interview-cd-projekts-co-founder-talks-about-gog-com-the-witc/ :
'We have already stumbled upon a few cases, which were way too complicated to be resolved, as one party owned the code to the game, another owned the brand, and then there was a legal conflict on top of that. In such situations we always try to talk to all parties involved and convince them to put it up on GOG.com, but sometimes it's just a no-go. '
Is it me or this (could) apply to D&D games (Planescape Torments etc.).

Binni: :D ....is there a prize for guessing correctly (I know Arcanum was easy but I guessed Gabriel Knight correctly as well ;)

Not from me there ain't. ;) But good guessing all the same.

Miaghstir: I was half expecting a topic titled "The Countdown Has Stopped." by now.

Done.
That's it? Two Activision games? Although GK is a good game, the countdown aftermatch was not impressive at all :p

No, not "two Activision games". "Activision coming to GOG, bringing two awesome games to begin with, then more very soon".

And also, Activision coming to GOG, bringing leverage to haul in other big fish.

I hope (and suppose) they are either for the first five games, or will always be replaced by new vacant spaces when one fills up, and it's not the case that Activision brings seven games in all.
After all, it's the Month of Activision, and if we suppose they will only give Activision titles, and keep their 2 games/week rate, they will publish at least 8 more Activision titles (thus, ten in total).

If there hadn't been a countdown, a surprise announcement of RPG fan favorite Arcanum on GOG would arguably made a much bigger impact than this rather anti-climactic resolution of a week-long countdown...

What a lot of people aren't quite grasping here is, this means:
1. More games from Activision, which includes most of Sierra's catalogue.
2. More companies following in Activision's wake, like the March announcement.
But yes, a few more games at launch wouldn't have hurt.

Yep, so believe I. Five minimum. (This first sentence is strange).
I'd love to see a few of Activision's older games updated, with working Multiplayer in Vista/Win7... Dark Reign and Interstate 76 immediately pop to mind.
But does Activision have the PC publishing rights to The Typing of the Dead?
I'd pay 9.99 for that.

Don't go writing silly things like that. Kotick can sniff out opportunities to crank up prices like a shark can sniff out blood.

How many games in total did GOG.com acquire in the Activision deal?
We have started with the first batch, which is around 20 games in total, which will translate to something around 15+ SKUs, as we are putting some games into packs to offer really good value for money.
