Protoss: Leather Goddesses of Phobos

chautemoc: Someone else that knows Leather Goddesses of Phobos...those games NEED to be released here. :) Been dying to play them.

I just did another life for that. :-)
Just kidding, never played it but I heard it's among the best of the earliest games. Just as all Infocoms are... well, almost...

Vestin: "In March, we plan to announce another big publisher thanks to whom GOG will get HUUUGE hits. By the way, it's not the only surprise we have planned for March. ;)". - sounds even better... And that still just the first page.

I say, I love the way GOG takes care of its users the business at the same time.
May it be only a beginning of a great GOG offensive on the market :)

Catshade: Oh god...we'll have hundreds of pages of wild speculation till March -_-;

Nah, if the releases will be as good as they imply, we will all be busy alternating between playing games and creating a digital vacuum with our credit cards.

chautemoc: That was epic.....are you high on sugar or something?

More like cynicism, most of the fun of sugar but better for the teeth

Speculation? With Activision out of the way the other HUUUUGE publisher will be a coin flip between EA & Lucasarts
My bet is on LA before EA, if nothing else then the publisher schedule would be escalating in awesome: Activision: Good, Lucasarts: Awesome, EA: OHMYFUCKINGGODICANBUYSYNDICATEPOWERMONGERPOPULOUSTHEMEHOSPITEALSTARFLIGHT etc etc...

Well, I was planning on lurking all the way through this, but now that there's only an hour to go I've blown it. Although there's a lot of speculation over what the announcement will be, one thing is certain...
...we're going to lose some cash over this :)
well gentlemen, not to post for posts sake but i recon over this next hour we're probably gonna hit the 100 page mark.... pretty impressive really :)
nice marketing stratagey gog
Its the Final Countdoooooown playin in the background. xD
I'm still hoping for System Shock 2. Not this time, but in the future I definitely see this as the ultimate achievement for gog.com
EA? Hardly. The biggest step away from DRM that they have ever made was from "online authentication every 5 days" to "online authentication only on install and upgrade, but with limited licenses".
LucasArts I could actually imagine. I was actually expecting them to come on board any day. Little trivia: there was a very popular German games magazine series in the 90s, which was basically a full version game on a CD, and the magazine was the manual. (Long before it became hip to get games with coverdiscs). I was surprised to see that amazingly many of the games this magazine released in its lifetime (100 issues or so) are also on offer at GOG, so I figured these must just be publishers that are more open to new and different forms of distribution for their legacy titles. Guess which is the only larger publisher that released numerous games with that magazine, but hasn't appeared on GOG yet?

Well, GOG had better have the announcement ready to post with a tap on the enter key at 12:00 sharp. I foresee a great refreshing of browsers :-D

Very true! By the way we've all waited a long time to see the veil lifted and it was quite bearable but to me the last hour just seems to be the worst.
Slightly gutted the cat was let out of the bag so far before the countdown...
Never mind though, Activision's back catalogue is pretty huge so should have plenty of stuff to get our teeth into.
Hopefully with this big coup by GOG, the likes of EA and Lucasarts will surely have to follow.
Nothing yet

Do you think we'll see the remake of MI1, rather than simply the original version, Dosboxed ?
Also - I wonder if the deal with Activision will bring us Lost Vikings... While Blizz has its own store, most older titles are simply not there...

cogadh: So, now that we know that it really is Activision, does this change anyone's opinions of Bobby Kotick? Or better yet, anyone regret any of the negative things we have said about him?

I REGRET NOTHING!...
since I...never said...anything...
