Can you get murdered if you do a bad job?
Instabuy!!!
While this game certainly has its flaws (p.e. "recruiters" from workplaces tend to NOTORIOUSLY turn back just before reaching housings), it's really enjoyable. And addictive.
Thanks GOG.

bansama: What's the combat like in this? Personally, I'm interested in the city building aspect, but combat in these games usually annoys me.

Very simple; the attacking army comes, you send your cohorts there to battle them, and then you watch and hope your men get the upper hand. In short, it clearly isn't the game's strongest feature.
(Hint: if you manage to thrill Mars, he'll smite down most (or even all!) of the next army that dares to invade your city.)
However, after the first two tutorial lessons, before every level of the campaign, you may choose between more peaceful and a more military-oriented scenario. In the first I-don't-remember-how-many levels, there's absolutely no combat in the peaceful ones.

shitpants: If [...] some day I would like to get some extra room for my empire, is it possible to "borrow" it from neightbours (with bunch or pretorians, of course :) ?

No, you're always restricted to the map you see before you. You can only use your soldiers for defense (and for helping Caesar when he asks for it).

TheCheese33: Can you get murdered if you do a bad job?

No, but you can end up as a slave on a galley ;-).
Great !
Now release the other titles from the city building series.
Thanks for answer, DrIstvaan!
I'm getting to think about buying this one really seriously, because everybody cheers it, so it can't be bad(?)
Just missing an option for enlarging the empire the whole way to Britain..
Maybe I buy it today :)

Well, here you don't manage an empire, but a city. The empire is the Emperor's, of whom you're a governor.
If you like city building games (and aren't put off by an amount of challenge), you should definitely get it.
I want pharoh, zues, emporoer ect
I've never played this game, and haven't honestly heard much about it until now. Although i'm not a huge fan of city builders i'll pay attention to what others think and perhaps if it gets enough of a positive response i'll give it a try.

DrIstvaan: *snip*

Thanks for the answer. I think I may just have to buy this one =)

Ok, I think I thought this game at wrong aspect. First I was think about the whole empire, of course. Thanks for clearing this out.
But yes, I like both, challenge and city building games so I think I must get this one also. Just need to find some time for playing all these new (old) games!
I think i bought this game a long long time ago . Pretty enjoyable game for anyone who likes city building.
Awesome addition to the catalogue.
Caeser 3 is the Impressions game I've played the most already so it's not a priority for me, but let's hope GOG gets Pharaoh+Cleopatra and Zeus as well (not too interested in Emperor as it seems to have been a step in the wrong direction for the series) and gives us a really nice promo package at some point in the future...

Not murdered per se, but the emperor sends his armies after you if you do too bad a job.
Instabuy, and at work no less! For all things Roman interest me!
Nice addition!
I can recall the many hours me and my friends spent playing this game. Tropico 3 has my civ/city/management needs covered right now, but this game is now on my wish-list.
