wolfsite: [...] Burnout Paradise on Origin but they don't need Origin to run, so they are DRM free they just need Origin for the download.

Bapabooiee: As far as Burnout Paradise (dunno about Mass Effect), you are wrong. On Origin, it uses both the Origin client, as well as SecuROM. Launching BurnoutParadise.exe just brings-up the Origin client and forces me to launch it from within it, and I've had to deal with SecuROM problems before (this was about a month ago; details and [url=http://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-EA-Games/Burnout-Paradise/m-p/1323954#M4599]here).

With that said, the Steam version of Burnout Paradise is, thankfully, SecuROM-free. It only has Steamworks DRM. The only thing the Origin version of BP has over the Steam version is cloud-sync for its saved games.
Just download the Burnout Paradise demo and insert the key inside the demo. It worked for me, back when I got a free key somewhere.

niniendowarrior: It's spinning without end. :(

Bapabooiee: They are, indeed, having issues with redeem-code functionality. They posted an EA Help entry about it today:

Currently we're aware that some players are unable to redeem their game codes in Origin, while others are just experiencing an up to 30 minute delay in redeeming their code. We are running a charity promotion with Humble Bundle which has received an extremely high response. The amount of redemption attempts has put a huge strain on the servers at the moment.

We're working to correct this as soon as possible. In the meantime, please hang on to your codes and stay tuned for updates. Thanks for your patience!

Bapabooiee:
Understandably. It makes the pain agonizing just the same!

Not necessary, since I have a Steam key for BP. That, and I am skeptical that the demo activated with a key will be up-to-date, and might be missing content that the full version has.

wolfsite: Really? I started Burnout without Origin active and it worked. I have been playing Mass Effect downloaded from Origin without Origin active for the past week and it has worked.
What happens if you right-click BP in Origin, hit Repair, fully log-out of the client, and then try launching BP from a shortcut or via BurnoutParadise.exe located in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Burnout Paradise\'?

Well, I remember playing my copy to the end that way and not feeling like I missed anything, but I understand your concern.

The buy/active through the demo was a thing they tried at the time, to see if it worked (you know, sold more units), but I suppose it didn't since I've never seen that approach again.
Wow... Just... Wow...

I guess it's time for me to finally become an Origin user. I can't resist this one.

Props to all parties involved here.
Damn. Mirror's Edge, Burnout, lowest HB tier, Steam keys, EA gets no money, tolerable DRM, EA gets no money... it all sounds so perfect!

So, why does it all feel so wrong?!

LMAO! SOOO GOOOOD!
I picked this up myself. I'm really hoping that they add the first Crysis and maybe Warhead to the bundle later. I haven't played either of them and would like to before I play Crysis 2.
Key redeeming through the Origin client is working fine at the moment for anyone that was having problems before.

in your case, i'd blame the badger, rubber underwear and the ducks liver pate! O_o
I bought three copies, one for myself and two gifting codes, though the gifting codes have some trouble. paypal registered the transfer but humblebundle didn't send any codes (yet), anyone else had that problem?

I haven't gotten the link yet either
It seems that as soon as you keep fiddling with newer EA games you are DOOMED!!!

Some people on other forums are reporting the same thing. It seems this bundle broke both Origin and Humble Bundle.

Also it is over 2 million already. I think the THQ bundle and HiB5 are going to be passed by the end of this one.
It's very disappointing that they have more and more DRMed bundles lately. I get only DRM free games from them.
