wolfsite: [...] Burnout Paradise on Origin but they don't need Origin to run, so they are DRM free they just need Origin for the download.
Bapabooiee: As far as Burnout Paradise (dunno about Mass Effect), you are wrong. On Origin, it uses
both the Origin client, as well as SecuROM. Launching BurnoutParadise.exe just brings-up the Origin client and forces me to launch it from within it, and I've had to deal with SecuROM problems before (this was about a month ago; details
and [url=http://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-EA-Games/Burnout-Paradise/m-p/1323954#M4599]here).
With that said, the
Steam version of Burnout Paradise is, thankfully, SecuROM-free. It only has Steamworks DRM. The only thing the Origin version of BP has over the Steam version is cloud-sync for its saved games.
Really? I started Burnout without Origin active and it worked. I have been playing Mass Effect downloaded from Origin without Origin active for the past week and it has worked.
