SamyMerchi: A Wild West RPG with customizable (including gender) protagonist, leveling, dialogue trees and party NPCs with approval meters.
West of Loathing? Well, not everything but fairly close to. I think approval meters are missing.

Squadron 42

:/
I don't know if *I* would play it, but someone on a twitch stream talked about wanting a Mega Man dating simulator.

I'd settle for Mega Man Legends 3.

It's, actually, not a bad idea as it *would* fill a niche for some fans. ^_^

Still, one would wonder how far the programmer(s) would allow the various 'relationships' to go. ^_^U

kohlrak: I'd settle for Mega Man Legends 3.
Would 'remastered' versions of the first two be included, as well.

(I'm sure that some players would like to decide how to rescue Tron from a certain peeved/pesky pooch) ^_^

One idea that I put on the 'back burner' was a game that would have allowed players to import their creations from other titles (ie their SimCities, their Create-A-Wrestlers, their Miis, etc) and, in some ways, create a new environment to explore and interact with. Norns and other creatures could form bonds/relationships, new business( opportuniti)es would open up and there would be no end to the number of matches/races on the various sports channels in this new world/universe/reality.

It probably would have given new life to old projects (and copyright holders some new targets for C&D letters) but it never came to fruition.

(Perhaps someone reading this can carry the torch?)

In a similar vein was an arcade-based MMO that would have allowed the various games/genres to interact. Planets could be defended ala Space Invaders or Missile Command, space battles could be resolved ala the Galaga series or Gyruss and bar fights could be resolved ala Combatribes, Vendetta or Battle Circuit (or even Kunio/River City Ransom?).

Each session would have cost 25c (or a monetary equivalent) and allowed players to adventure as long as they wished (up to 24 hours?). And, because of the various games' simplicity and small file size(s), lag wouldn't have been a problem. ^_^

These days, because of my 'jaded nature', a game would need to redefine 'surreal' in order to earn my money. -_-U

Classic cartoons like Duck Amuck, Dough for the Dodo, The Cat That Hated People and the Teen Titans episode, Fractured, have made me long for an equally (if not more) twisted world, particularly when it comes to its female characters.

To see a design/programming team's creativity and imagination unleashed on a digital canvas would be wondrous. To interact with it as a centauress, a geisha with swapped arms and legs or a model with feet/boobs for hands would be a dream come true.

If any of these idea(l)s have become reality, feel free to let me know. ^_^

A Linux version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Enhanced Edition.
It would be amazing.

An action RPG game combining the best features of the Mass Effect trilogy set in the original StarCraft universe.
Here's a few ideas:

An Ultima 5 remake done in the style of Ultima 4 NES. (There is an Ultima 5 NES, but it's horrible and plays nothing like Ultima 4 NES or Ultima 5 PC.)

Baldur's Gate, but remake to be more like a JRPG in terms of things like battle mechanics. Alternatively, any remake of that game (or its sequel) that does not use D&D mechanics, but still uses the setting. (Might be interesting to see how purists react.)

A Zelda RPG. By RPG, I mean that the game should have turn-based RPG-style combat, and you should have a party of adventurers rather than playing as Link solo.

A Zelda game set in the Imprisoning war. Take the "Link failed" timeline, and have a game where you control the seven sages (though not all at once). We could have the entire game taking place in Ganon's castle, which would be expanded into a mega-dungeon with many different areas, each as large and complex as a standard Zelda dungeon. Link would not be playable in the game's main story mode, but might be an unlockable extra for something like a boss rush mode.

I might have mentioned this before, but how about Final Fantasy 7 remade as a pure action game (without RPG elements)?

Final Fantasy 4 remake, but using a growth system to Final Fantasy 2 (Famicom) and a technique learning system similar to the SaGa series. (That game has seen plenty of remakes, so how about one that plays very differently from the others?)

A game that plays like a roguelike, but without permadeath; dying would just start the floor over with a new map. To balance that out, the game would be very chaotic, with many things that can kill you unexpectedly, lots of out-of-depth monsters that you can't realistically kill without cheap tricks (which are present), and sometimes impossible levels (because requiring that levels be possible makes the dungeon generation harder and more constrained).

Edit: Another idea (one I might actually try making at some point): A game with the structure of a shmup, but with RPG combat mechanics.

Kaesemeister: I was not precise enough. I was thinking of a game similiar to the Grand Theft Auto series. Basically a police simulator in 3D with free-roam.
You probably already know this but there is a mod for GTA 5 to turn it into what you're looking for. It also has plenty off plugins to make it as realistic as you want.
