too many bad games over the years on consoles
on pc i can get a patch or something
I'm rather interested in the 2DS. I still have my old DS Lite (and will long after I upgrade) but there are a few 3DS games I'm interested in. Granted, I still wish the 2DS could fold but It's a lot closer to my price max for a handheld. :)

That picture really does crap all to prove a point imo. Look at those PS Vita titles, half I can get on PC, some of the others I've already played on my PSP.

Monster Hunter/Pokemon/Fire Emblem/Animal crossing, those are games I'd buy a console for to be honest. Who cares Pokemon was a show you could see as a kid, the game concept was fun and it still is.

And this is coming from someone who would highly have preferred to get a PSP Vita over another NDS, but at the moment the titles simply aren't there imo, the power doesn't matter one bit if it doesn't carry the games I want. (Btw, I'm not a fan of Nintendo first party titles at all)

And the whole pic overall is just sad tbh. Half of it comes down to putting the NDS's library down as a kids console.

I'll agree the Vita probably has the best potential as it is, not just because of more power but because the PS4 will be pushing it as a good peripheral to have with it, but until that time, or until the games are there it's not there yet imo.

McDon: Games like FPSes usually use the stylus as a second control stick and it's not a bad system if used well (Metroid).

grviper: I heard, Sony even released a few games for it. Nobody knows why. People were mostly buying it as a posh paperweight.
avatar
Roman5: See above
Really-ports and portable spin-offs of console games is your example?

Kids' console-you've obviously never played Fire Emblem,Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, some of the most harcore games out there, if a child could master all of its those games then there's definitely a future for them.

The Vita may have power but so those a PS3 and PC and they both have those games.

lugum: But if the game is not in 3d anymore they might as well just released the games on the ds.
Offcourse it's obvious you can't play them, it's just a cash-in move from Nintendo, just as all the xl xxl versions. Just make a good one and stick with it.
Did you know that the 3DS hardware is a lot more powerful than the DS? Probably not.

It's like saying "Oh, Sony could release these games on the PS1 instead of the PS3". Give me a break.
avatar
Roman5: It looks very, very bad

who on earth designed this thing?

more importantly: Why would I want to buy this over, let's say a PsVita?
Maybe because the 3DS has many more games than the PSVita?

Comparing a Ps1 against a Ps3 just as a 3Ds to a DS that is bullshit,whole different thing. Give me a break.

darkplanetar: same price as a regular smartphone... no chance this can beat android games
Since when are Android games as deep as proper portable games? Are you seriously trying to compare 1 dollar and free-to-play games to proper 40 dollars games?

And i don't know about your country, but here it's exactly the opposite, the 3DS is much cheaper than an android smartphone. It's less than half of the price of a smartphone, actually.

Your comparison was BS, so i used a BS comparison as well. Comparing the 3DS hardware to the DS is a fucking joke. Not realizing that they have different hardware is ridiculous. The 3DS is not just a DS with 3D graphics (which CAN be turned off, actually), it's a whole new piece of hardware. At least research a bit before making posting crap.

Putting aside how ugly that is, it looks incredibly uncomfortable to actually use.

also there are lots of games, also ported games, tones of applications

what else you need? has free games too...

And with that kind of attitude you think you make your point across better how..?

With my very first comment here i were not even talking about the hardware, i was just using sarcasm on the name.

Seems you wanting the same useless discussion it went into with another forum member, but i gonna refrain from it especially if you act like an ass with it. People have different views (just as what they count as a good game, accept it.

I hear it's actually more comfortable than the original 3DS.

Anyway, this might actually be the only chance I'd actually get a 3DS. I hear the original model isn't very comfortable, and I couldn't really justify buying the XL for its price when there are only a few games I really want for it (Shin Megami Tensei IV, Soul Hackers, Luigi's Mansion, maybe other things...).

lugum: Because the major future of the 3DS is the 3D part (hence the name) with that removed, it just acts like a normal ds game. Or are you really thinking the graphics would be that much different/better? doubt that.
Yes, it's much different. The DS was extremely weak with 3D graphics and the cart size was severely limited (which meant no prerendered cutscenes, bad audio quality, and the list goes on). The 3DS allows for gameplay possibilities there were not possible on the DS. Compare the DS Resident Evil to Resident Evil Revelations, for example.

avatar
lugum: The ds has over 6000 releases , name more then 30 really good games. It will happen with the 3DS too.
Hahahahahahaha, what a joke. You can take 30 good games from Nintendo alone, not including some great third-party titles such as Professor Layton, Etrian Odyssey, Phoenix Wright, Castlevania, The World Ends with You, Ninja Gaiden, Dragon Quest, Trauma Center, Scribblenauts, Lunar Knights and the list goes on.

avatar
lugum: Just as it is happening with the Wii U, stores are already pulling the consoles from the shelves.
Wait, let me see if i got it right. Do you seriously expect me to believe that they will pull the currently most sold console from shelves? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yep, definitely makes sense.

Not to mention that there are currently 4 exclusive games for the 3DS on the Top 10 globally most sold games this week (including the top one, which is Mario and Luigi Dream Team).

Proof: http://www.vgchartz.com/

avatar
lugum: Never said anything about that it should be playable, just saying a 3DS without the 3d would not make that much difference over a normal DS. Atleast no valid reason to get another $120 computer especially if you already have a DS.
Nah, the 3D effect on the 3DS isn't that good anyway. And sometimes it gets extremely annoying. You have to hold the 3DS in the same position all the time, otherwise you lose focus and can't see anything on the screen.

avatar
lugum: I have a DS and i would like a 3Ds in the future, but that's what i would buy, not ever a 2DS. Why skimp over $40.
No doubt about that. I don't see the reason to choose a 2DS over the 3DS.

why go to a fancy restaurant when you can just go stand in line at the soup kitchen?

why use gog or steam or gamer's gate or anything else when you can already play solitaire on your computer for free???
