Crazy... If they added a second control stick they'd screw everyone over. Yes there should have been one on the 3DS in the first place, no they shouldn't add one in a revision.
I doubt the 2DS is unable to sleep, I guess they will have added a sleep button instead of the reed switch all the other DSs had. Pressing that twice in a row should be enough for games that require you to close the DS for a moment.

But than this 2DS is incompatible with the old Control Stick Pro attachments so it would be a huge oppertunity to just add a second stick on the 2DS to save money rather than make a whole nother attachment.

Carefull here : I agree this is an ugly piece of videogaming device, but it's a very clever/efficient design.
You just have one PCB with exclusively "on-board" components, in the end what you lose on visual aspect you gain on sturdiness and cost reduction.

There's a sleep switch, just most photos of the 2DS are at awful angles. Its easily triggered on the bottom right, a slide like the wireless.
One of the few times where I wish Nintendo had run this revision by us and given us a chance to shoot it down and suggest far better ideas.

Games like FPSes usually use the stylus as a second control stick and it's not a bad system if used well (Metroid).

I heard, Sony even released a few games for it. Nobody knows why. People were mostly buying it as a posh paperweight.

Hey, some people don't like the 3D functionality on the 3DS and this offers a cheap alternative. I don't see a problem with this existing aside from the fact that it's not really a 'pocket device' because it's not flip designed. It's dumb when we look as "core" gamers, not searching for a "worse" alternative, but this is fine for folks that might be just needing a discount.
