This morning while watching my youtube feed, there was an old clip from Top Gear I hadn't seen and well, I got quite dubious when I saw this "painted double mini roundabout".... If i had come over this IRL I would be like "WTF???!!" and just go across in a straight line :o)
https://youtu.be/9TnGjq9mWSI?t=3m55s

Besides as UK'ers don't do things like the rest of the world, which habits do you find odd in their country/people?

PS: no UK bashing please ^o^

Yes, that is a particularly bad example, thats why they used it in the program. It doesn't make any sense. Much like all the traffic calming setup now, doesn't stop speeding, but does make it like a crazy golf course. In fact if anything, it makes worse drivers as instead of watching the road and being aware of the surroundings, they are reading signs, trying to dodge ramps/ bumps/chicanes etc.

And don't think your going to get away with that, I mean lets just examine, Place Meiser, Brussels for instance, a roundabout with a main road going over it, with several tramlines also crossing over it...
Yeah... that's pretty odd all right. Never come across one quite that bad myself.

Painted roundabouts in general are ridiculous, hardly anyone actually uses them and tends to just drive over them..
You have the whole Tea drinking thing which to be honest isn't as popular as it used to be, you also have the Fish & Chips thing but to be honest the traditional style Chippies are a dying breed, there is one in the next town over that just does the tradiotional stuff associated but most now do a full compliment of pizza and kebab etc with traditional chip shop stuff an afterthought.

In all fairness we are no different from the rest of the world and the way we are perceived, much like the UK people looking at other countries and thinking them having odd stuff going on

So you can turn stuff off properly at the wall to save energy, or are you talking about the ones that are standalone that look like a power switch but no points for a plug to go into (looks similar to a light switch)

Why?
It's got an earth, makes it much safer (as I understand anyway..) then a two prong plug.

And as Iain said it's to turn off the plugs to save energy (or turn off everything plugged into an extension cable all at once without having to unplug anything)

Unless you mean some other sort of power switch..

Explain Joe Pasquale then.
Calling people you do not know at all 'dear' or 'love'. Tea is a meal (now if they could only agree on what time that one is had), a cuppa is something you drink...

Reminds me I need to book flight tickets to England this summer.

Yes, a whole world full of bland advertising sameness. Go see something cultural like a Mcdonalds, next to a starbucks, next to... How did Zeogold put it...

Yes, it may seem that way. The style is quite old. The two pin version creates a circle, which can work both ways round, hence you can plug the two pin in either way. However if you pull the device apart whilst it is still plugged in and have the circle round the wrong way, you will get a nasty shock. The earth or third pin is meant to kill off charge to avoid electric shocks and such like. Is it better or worse than 2 pin, well the are pluses and minuses on both sides. Some people would think painting everything orange a bit peculier ;op

Two pin round versions used in the rest of europe also have connection to earth, just not through an extra pin. They normally have 2 metal parts at both sides of the circle. There are some 2 pin versions that are not round and don't get to touch the earth part of the plug (e.g. mobile chargers), but then the equivalent ones in the UK have a plastic 3rd pin (it's actually needed to open the holes for the other 2 pins).
