Hey guys! I've been busy in rl so I haven't had time to try out new suggestions. But, I just got my games to work! GOG support suggested a few things, and it turns out all my games work well with headphones. Such a simple work-around that I should've thought of. I prefer the speakers, but I'm perfectly content with headphones, especially since I'm sick of trying to fix games instead of playing them! haha!
I'll answer some of your comments anyways
RWarehall: I've tried a couple of the C++ without any changes. I didn't have time to try more, and since I'm ok with headphones, I'll let it go for now. Thanks!
OldFatGuy: I did try running them in different Windows versions and ran them in administrator mode, without success. thanks for the advise anyways!
rtcvb32: I only use the moniter's speakers, and occasionally headphones. The default was already set to my speakers
johnnygoging: Thanks for the link! I found a post on the Jedi Knight forums that linked that, and others too. Didn't work for me for some strange reason though. Maybe my computer just sucks haha
Anyways, thank you guys so much for all the help! It means a lot to me!
Edit: Forgot to mention, a couple days ago, I found a post on the Freedom Force forums that helped me get the 1st game to work perfectly. That was the game that crashed before I could even get into the game. That meant that I only had 3 games left with problems, and all those problems were with sound. Then today, GOG support gave me the suggestion to use headphones. Now I can play all 5 games without problems.

Hmmm... looking it up. Dark Forces was MS-DOS so DosBox is going to be used, but 97 with DF2, it's squarely in the Windows 95 era, which means it will have the worst compatibility... Aside from running the launcher with different compatibility options (Win 95/98/2000, XP SP3, Vista) i'm not sure.
Although to note, a LOT of windows software also had no sense of permissions or protections so not sure if it requires admin/root access to run.
