Like I said in the description, I just bought my first 5 games here on GOG: Star Wars Dark Forces 1 and 2, Freedom Force 1 and 2, and Sid Meier's Pirates. Dark Forces 1 is the only one without a problem. Dark Forces 2, Freedom Force 2, and Pirates all do not have sound. Freedom Force 1 crashes before I can even get into the game.

I've only heard wonderful things about GOG, so I'm guessing it's just me and my computer. I suck with computers, so I have no idea what to do. Though, it probably has to do with my sound since it's the problem for most of them. But, sound works on other games, so idk what the problem is. Is there something I need to with my computer (which is a Windows 10 btw)? Or is GOG worse than all the rumors? If I'm supposed to edit the game to make it work, then GOG isn't doing their job

If I need to do something, please make it easy to understand, because I don't know anything about computers. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about those games specifically, but I do know that there are more than a few older titles that have issues with Windows 10, have you tried looking up your games to see if they're on the list of titles that don't play well with the new version of Windows?

I have a few games that I need to run through a virtualized XP (or even 98SE) to get them working.

My guess would be that it's a problem with Microsoft, or possibly your specific hardware, because I own nearly a thousand games here and they almost all work just fine with only a few that I need to futz with due to being on WIN10.
Windows 10 can mess up things for older games. I would look for solutions in the game specific forums:

https://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_dark_forces_series
https://www.gog.com/forum/sid_meiers_pirates

If nothing helps in there, send a support ticket to GOG. Worst case you get a refund, but they will try to help you out. They might even have an idea what's happening.

Here's something for DF2:

What do you use for sound? The onboard chip? HDMI audio? A separate sound card?

The only time I've ever had issues with (old) games under Win10, they were listed as 'unsupported'. (So I've fixed that myself with an XP VM.)

I have 100+ games

For lack of time, I've downloaded and played maybe 20 or so.

Only one doesn't want to work, Port Royale 2

So there is definitely some truth when saying that some games have problems.

But maybe you really had bad luck with those games

I have 10 and apart from the constant updates (which can been rescheduled) haven't had a problem.

Are you using Galaxy? Or are you downloading the files yourself and installing manually?
