Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

Oh, how comfortable.

Thanks Telika, Grargar and DyNaer!

Which directly points me to the next problem:
Notifications about forum replies are gone too with the new "My Account", GOG?

They seem to be working for me, but they can be hit and miss.
Hmm, the new interface looks cluttered, but I suppose it's because I'm not used to it
I do agree that we need themes for it.

In any case, I've been a GOG loyal fan for 6 years, there's nothing that will change that as long as DRM-Free is top priority.

The downloader hasn't been updated for a long time, but it should still work.

DieRuhe: (I don't get it. I go to the "messages" thingy, but what do we do with it? Can you only send messages to "friends"?)
No. Hover your mouse cursor over the avatar of the user you want to chat with, select "Send Message" and you should be able to chat with said person, even if you are not friends.

The downloader still works, you just have to make additional clicks to get to the downloader links. However, those will probably eventually disappear.

It seems like GOG didn't learn anything from the last round of sweeping changes that makes long term customers feel alienated. I guess it doesn't matter though, this is still the best source of DRM free games.
Just a quick note, I've found the new Accounts do not play well with Barefoot Essentials. I had to disable that to get the Friend dropdown menus to return, as well as proper notification numbers in the title bar. I expect the changes needed will be pretty extensive.

GOG.com: --Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
When you assign several tags to a game they aren't displayed as separate in the bottom of the game window (see attached image) although they are treated as such (when you click on them). If you then click on the assigned tags the resulting page doesn't show you directly which filters have been applied. I know you can view it in the tag menu but it would be nice if it was visible on the page itself.

I have had a "1" on my account for a few days. I thought the system was broken, turns out I had a friends request.
One day in and I can see how this could be more annoying than Feckbook.

Although if you want to introduce a system like the "Poke" one, can we have samurai swords!

Miss for me, again.

Yes, but GOG has been so superior to other stores in the past and now DRM-free is about the last thing which has been left. They make being a loyal customer harder and harder with every change.

The true GOG equivalent would be a lit pitchfork.
OK, so I've just responded to my first PM via the new Chat facility:

1. Why does Enter default to posting when there's a nice, clicky, Send button? Can we have an option to turn this off, please?

2. If Enter MUST post automatically, how about displaying a reminder somewhere amongst all that grey sapce that Shift+Enter starts a new paragraph.

3. That typing window is WOEFULLY small! Can it be made bigger, or re-sizeable please? This is a replacement for our PMs as well as a Chat system - two lines of display just isn't enough.

I can confirm that the downloader still works (when you can find the links!) - I just pre-loaded all 21.9Gb of Witcher 3 with it. :-)

I see. Thank you!!

As someone who greatly enjoyed GOG's ability to make our game collection feel like an actual collection, I'm very disappointed that we can't sort them manually anymore. I can live with the shelf not looking like a shelf, or the games not having covers anymore, but at least let me sort them like I want.

Allowing me to sort them by tags would make it a little better (Though bringing back the manual sorting would be the ideal)

GOG.com: Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours
Then why did you forcibly replace it without my permission? :p instead of my well organised manually sorted shelf which I have recently had to redo large chunks of it because of your laughably bad & similarly unwanted 'unbundling' now I'm back to square one again with a worse system that seems to be suspiciously similar to your 'optional' client, it's ugly, games have wrong tags, no decent ordering and it has social junk I don't want.

If it's really 100% mine then let me have my old shelf+layout back, otherwise stop with the PR lies.
