Its hard to say many females make in a entry stay one game and go off or get killed sigh....

I loved one female through them all.....she stuck with the game series right from the first game and everything after it , She was sight to behold in a adventure game where you are expected to be pixel hunting , cursing at each puzzle and here she comes like a goddess , no you don't have to do anything to win her, she just jumped in and fit in the game till the last one they made ......its such a heart breaker to realize the fate of the game now.......

My favorite female character in video games is Elaine Marley–Threepwood from the monkey island series , Shes simply awesome , fills in what you need in a adventure game a trusty partner, here is hoping for monkey island 5.

Well there were lots of memorable female characters. I've for example liked Viconia in BG, Bastila in Kotor, but I'll go with Morrigan for this one.

Not in but I have to go with pelayo on this one. I grew up with the original Metroid and I remember the 1st guy in my class who finished it (was it two or three times?) running up the next morning and saying, "You aren't gonna believe this!"

She remains the ultimate badass and the standard by which all others are judged.

I was going to say The Boss but if she has yo lead, than April Ryan is the one. She's decent, she's real, she's fun. She would make a good friend.

I never made a screenie of my own FemShep from Mass Effect, but this one kind of looked like her, a little...

Anyway, I had so much fun playing through the story with her. It seems many people feel the same way; that she was superior to the male Shepard that features on the box.

Not really my favourite female video game character, but I did enjoy these games (have played only part of them).

I liked Annah when I played Planescape: Torment, and considering she's usually the first to come to mind when I think of this question, I guess I'll name her my favourite.

Princess Farah from Sands of Time. I just loved all the interactions between her and the prince. Like if you graze her in combat and the prince says "sorry", a couple seconds later you get an arrow in the knee followed by "Sorry!"

One of my favorites that I don't believe has been mentioned yet is Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. She is a strong, well developed, and likeable female lead character that is beautiful without being oversexualized.
