I thought people were insanely cheap with me then I realized that people are afraid of buying used items. So by haggling down the price of a used item to almost nothing, they are simply protecting themselves from spending too much money on what could be junk. So I apologize to all the people who haggle used items down to nothing or have done so in the past. You guys are not insanely cheap. And it seems, in the past, people were more reckless with their money but now that times are tough, people are more cautious.

PS
Unfortunately I've witnessed many people being insanely cheap and trying to haggle the prices of new items down to nothing or just not buying something unless it is dirt cheap like 75% off or more. So many insanely cheap people do exist! Why are many people so insanely cheap nowadays?

1. Times are hard.
2. I don't know what you're selling. Maybe I would act the same way.
3. People have always been cheap and looking for a deal. You're a member of the cheapest gaming site on the planet in a forum that has frequent free giveaways to boot.
4. Goog luck selling your stuff. Selling stuff is hard. I hope you get what you're hoping for.

I know people have always been looking for a deal. I wasn't born yesterday but I don't remember people behaving like this. This is a NEW low. I've sold stuff in the past, many times. And me being a member here, doesn't mean I'm a cheap person. It means I like good old games.

PS
When times are hard, the worst thing for people to do is be insanely cheap. This kind of behavior destroys the economy.

There is a thread that welcomes this kind of behavior.

Asking for a free game in a thread that welcomes it and contacting a seller and being insanely cheap are two totally different things. And have you ever entertained in your mind, the possibility that a lot of people who beg for free games, don't want to starve to play games?

Joke > your head
Some people have to haggle, others hate it with passion. In Europe there are countries where you have to haggle the price to less than 50% otherwise you get a horrible deal and the vendor is disatisfied. While in other countries the vendor would be upset if you just ask for 5%.
Sometimes this attitude changes because of the economy or some new laws & taxes or maybe just because of migration.

But the main thing probably is that you haven't expected them to haggle. You want to sell something add +50% price and let them haggle, if they haggle the price down by 1/3 they feel like they made a bargain, you get the same amount that you initally wanted and everybody is happy.
If +50% is too expensive you just have to wait, or you just don't mention prices at all.

When people see that you are offering the wares too cheap (which you probably did) they get unreasonable demanding even more.
Look at the Origin Humble Bumblebee and how people where demanding even MOAR games for like $6 BTA prices for TrippleA titles that where sold normally for $40 to $60 (or 40€ - 60€ in Germany) on Steam and Origin.

I'm not against haggling. I'm against people who are insanely cheap. When an item is overpriced or fair priced, then of course, people should haggle. BUT NOT WHEN SOMETHING IS 80% OFF. People shouldn't expect shit for almost free. This kind of entitlement is destroying the world. Imagine, Steam is selling a good game for 80% off. What kind of person would I be, if I contacted Steam and asked for 90% off instead?

monkeydelarge: I've been trying to raise money by selling things lately. These things are either very useful or desired by many people. I'm not selling junk. I listed all these items at a low price. Nobody contacted me. A lot of time passed. So I thought okay, I guess these low prices aren't low enough. Then I listed all the items at lower prices(dirt cheap, 75% off). Then people started contacting me. Some of them, trying to get me to take off $10 or $20. Some of them, asking me if the price includes shipping. Some of them, trying to get me to pay for the gas they have to spend in order to pick up items. I don't remember Americans being this insanely cheap. When did Americans become so insanely cheap? It is disgusting. I would never behave like this towards another person. It is uncivilized, in my opinion. Is it only Americans nowadays that are like this? Why are these people behaving like this? Anyone else here, feel the same way I do?
What are you trying to sell and for how much?
People should always haggle, it's actually an art-form, a social game, a form of entertaining conversation and very useful for both sides.
It's not the matter of being overpriced or not, it's the matter of wrestlinging down the game you intended to feed your clan with, with you bare hands instead of wasted a spear.
There has to be a satisfactional sense of achievement involved.

It doesn't matter, what I'm trying to sell and for how much unless you think I'm a liar.

It's extremely rude if the prices are so low, the seller is almost giving away the stuff for free. If you went to mediamarkt or Saturn and saw a big brand new Samsung TV worth 1000 euro, on sale for 100 euro, would you haggle?

Sorry, but if you are not able to give the buyer the "sense of achievement" by lowering the price a bit you are the rude one.

The problem is that you did expect fairness where the buyer expected something completely different.
Fairness and Selling doesn't really work, most consumers don't want that. They want to come home with a BARGAIN!
There have been studies, there have been experiments and even some famous examples of utterly failures where a market chain tried to offer fair pricing models and nobody wanted them...
There was an "extra credits" episode on that topic that was quite shocking but really made sense, if I find the link I will let you know.

50% off to 99% off is a bargain. Never did I expect fairness. Your first sentence, is a good example of the entitlement mentality that is destroying this world. No wonder, the economy is shit. A lot of people should just become fucking thieves instead of hypocrite hagglers, trying to haggle shit down to 99% off. AGAIN, stop trying to make it look like I'm against haggling. I'm against haggling when the prices are bargain prices. I'm well aware, we humans don't want to settle for what is fair. But we shouldn't expect things for free or things to be so cheap that the seller barely makes any money.

Monkayyyyy cool down, sometime this kinda stuff happens when you try to sell, and also depends on items you are trying to sell. Whatever you are trying to sell is probably a item people expect for cheap and this is why they are being bitch
