The demo did nothing for me. What I played came across as bland and boring so I'll be passing on this one.
Demo looked nice. I couldn't enjoy it though 'cause to draw a weapon you had press middle mouse button. I even hit my mouse wheel with a hammer to no avail. I couldn't even change key mappings in the demo.

I had problems with the middle mouse button aswell (i do in most games) but i had no problem reassiging it to a key (in the demo).

LOVE IT, it is definitely a must buy, and I will buy it for a full price.Piranhas rock.
Mein gott. It has the same big ass fault as Gothic 3. Combat is utter crap. How hard can it be? There have been tens if not hundreds of good melee combat games around but somehow Piranha Bytes games always feel like you are waving a limp dick around. Do want but not with combat like this. :(
Tried it. Very briefly. Played like an early alpha. Not very encouraging given the dev's reputation for unfinished games. The controls in particular were appalling. I'm definitely going to have to give this one a miss.
From the time i've spent with the demo :
- Runs flawlessly on Win7 64
- Not a single crash/bug
- Runs smooth and stable with everything maxed out
- Decent VO so far
- Looks very good, or maybe i'm just not an eye candy whore, i dunno. It looks damn good to me.
- Clean interface
- Sara has an impressive pair of ti...nvm...
- Jumping is...weird...to say the least...
- Combat is average...
- Lack of 1st person camera is a bit of a let down...unless there is an option somewhere and i didn't find it...

- Doesn't support a standard qwerty 101/102 key keyboard. WTF, seriously?
On maximum settings (which any reasonable recent system can achieve) Risen is a gorgeous game. You've seen all those pre-release screenshots of grass and monsters and whatnot? Those are actual game graphics. Anyone who likes Gothic even a little simply must play this. Those who hated the Gothic games should probably stay away, however, as it's simply a more refined successor and not a significantly different game.
EDIT: my only real complaint is the lack of an antialiasing option (forcing it from the control panel didn't seem to work either). Other than that this is great stuff.

I just played the demo and it really doesnt give me much to go on. It is mainly wandering around with no questing and very little NPC interaction.
Am i the only one who likes to see these sorts of things in a demo? You know the stuff your most likely doing for the whole game..
Anyway, im still not so sure.. Could always play The Witcher again : P

You can force it with nHancer throughn the Vanguard compatability profile.

The important question, Arkose: Are there any indications of Thorniarras in this game? How are the characters so far in the demo???
Is this the one banned down heer?

Yeah. For drug references. To fictional drugs.
It must be nice being treated like an adult.
Anyone else fall in love with the music?
