I still have the original multi CD set of this game. I enjoyed it immensely. I may just buy it again here.
Did Activision publish part 2 of this game? I hope to see it here, though some have told me it wasn't as good as part one it would still be an instant buy for me.

JacobNZ: Don't get me wrong I don't mind people posting stuff like that. I do have a problem with the hardcore fans as you can see as they do not like me posting negative comments.
There isn't a problem as thats what reviews are for, the problem is when only one side is aloud a voice, the positive side.

michaelleung: It's not I don't like people posting stuff like that, it's just that your brand of Amazing Criticism™ isn't even constructive.
And you are known for posting BS on here a lot. So you know, that probably had something to do with it.

You are known for putting people out to dry that do not agree with you. Whats the point?
An opinion is an opinion and I will contuinue to post mine, whether you want to listen to it or not, as its likely someone does.

Activision has the rights to Phantasmagoria 2 as well, yes.
The story isn't as good in Phantasmagoria 2 compared to the first, but the overall "production quality" is higher. I really enjoyed it back in the day.

JacobNZ: I know I have not proof, but you can just tell by how they blindly follow.

Or you could remember that the people who post on the forums represent a small number of those that shop from GOG. You have no proof yet you must be right because it is you?

Keep at it and you'll get on TV like Glenn Beck.

I'll endeavour to explain it to you.
Your opinions are not backed up by any means of intellectual effort. It's just "THIS GAME SUCKS ITS NOT WORTHY TO ME WAAAAAAH". That is not the level of discussion we like to see. And then you go with a holier-than-thou attitude, boldly proclaiming that GOG should not have the game in their catalogue.
i give up. if you read any of my posts, i dont try to silence critics i even stated that you and the other guy make totally valid points. i have not received the same curtesy/respect whatever you want to call it. what i DO try to silence is people trying to get on GoG's case that they release a game that YOU do not like. i think its obvious from this forum and the ratings so far there are enough people to justify this game here. but all i get from you is the same stuff.
and for the record, yes, i do think that "OLD" is the key word and the main attraction of GOG.com.

Same could be said about your insults.
So is this the game where Roberta Williams hired her receptionist and janitor to play the leading roles in her new FMV game?

See? This is what I mean. This is how you defend yourself. "NO,.YOU DID IT! OH YEAH!?!?!".
I do not honor obvious trolls with intelligent retorts. Nay, it is more amusing to see if you take the bait, and thus I layeth forth.
I thought Phantasmagoria was supposed to be a niche game for adults, anyway.

Know you do not and I respect that, the comment you were refering to was direct at the 'hardcore fans' not you. Thats great, that is your opinion, I respectively disagree.

drmlessgames: So is this the game where Roberta Williams hired her receptionist and janitor to play the leading roles in her new FMV game?

Yes. Specifically, the Janitor in the leading male role (and again in -the- leading role in the second game).

Risingson: This is a very bad game, one of the worse in the history of Sierra, maybe the worse of Roberta Williams' career, and whose only redeeming quality is the nice gore feast at the end of it. Gabriel Knight 2 and Puzzle of Flesh surpassed it in everything (and I am not talking about the technical qualities, but the trite story, the flawed horror elements, the non-existent characters, the stupid puzzles, the horrid game engine and that rape scene that is one of the most embarassing things ever happened in a videogame).
And, all in all, it is interesting. You can play it now and wonder why magazines talked so well about it and not about many other adventures. You can see how Sierra tried to get into the FMV wagon and miss in the first try. Anyway, saying that this is a love-and-hate thing is just absurd: this is a piece of explotation more than a videogame, and that was clear since the day it was out. Anyway, enjoy it.

I think this game generates such extreme opinions because at the time Roberta Williams was at the height of rockstar fandom, she was a workshipped celebrity of adventure gaming, and the genre itself was at its peak. Everyone wanted to know more about Roberta Williams' new game. I think too, that this game was some sort of star vehicle for Roberta Williams, and it wasn't very good of a game at the end, and so it comes off as arrogant.

stonebro: You defend your inadequate arguements by attacking people. Often you do not even try to argue, just beat people down out of the block with unnecessary insults.
