lukaszthegreat: raise one to be an evil bastard and other one as an angel.

too late, as they both are evil bastards... I am the combination of the words you chose, although I have a morality.

zhoomcar: It's a shame the Australian market is so strange.
I bought it for $89AU.
that's the cheapest i could find, and it is also never on sale, or copies are rare.

Though you may not need this info anymore, but EBGames are selling them half-price right now in copious amount...

JonhMan: Getting the Orange Box for $25 a month after release at a Best Buy Thanksgiving weekend sale was probably the best deal I've ever gotten.

Epsilon: Planescape: Torment 4 cd edition, original print, wrapped for 5 euro in a bargain bin one month ago.
avatar
captfitz: no effing way
point me to this bin.

I could hardly believe it myself, but it was in a bookstore who used to be big on pc games, now they only have stuff like WoW and Sims and other EA games, they had this bin where they sold a bunch of old games.
I also picked up Icewind Dale 2 there for the same price :)
I guess there wasn't any customers for these kind of games back in the day. And they just took them out of their stock to get rid of them.
I payed 1 Dutch guilder (which has the same purchasing power as €0,54 in 2008) for Half-Life G.O.T.Y., and when I entered the serial in Steam, I got all the expansions, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.
Though I never bothered playing any of them...
And the flea markets and online auction sites I've bought tonnes of games for under €5: Planescape Torment, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World, Duke Nukem 3d Atomic Edition, Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis (with box and everything, Jagged Alliance (with box and an extra disc because 'a cd alone could not be sold' according to the seller), Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games, Gabriel Knight 3, Railroad Tycoon 2.
Granted, all of them were pretty old and classic by the time I bought them, but still...
Most precious: Seeing Age of Empires II Gold on sale for somewhere between €15-20 and a pack with Age of Empires Gold AND Age of Empires II Gold for €10. I just had to buy it :)

Just got Prey for 1 DKK at cdon
I got on ebay a package that had the whole warhammer 40k dawn of war games, stronghold 2, the settlers 6, rome total war and some headphones for $41 usd total with the shipping.
Just had a great games splurge the other day.
Bought Scrapland and No One Lives Forever 2 for £3 from an indie games shop.
Then I went into a charity shop which had a ton of original old games, all lacking big boxes but came in CD cases with manuals. They had a load of Star Trek games, original Soldier of Fortune, Jedi Knight Dark Forces II, Dune 2000, Alien vs Predator 2, Warbreeds etc. Bought System Shock 2 for £1.99 and original packaging Half Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, and Gunman Chronicles for £5. The manuals are quite nice, I like the draft artwork in the Half Life one :)
Way back in the day, I bought Quake 1 for $10 at Toys'R'Us, thinking it would be the shareware version with the full game unlockable. I was quite surprised when they handed me a box that said "Full registered version"! I went back a few weeks later and the price was changed to $40 :D
Blade Runner, Max Payne and Sweeney Todd.
All for 19€.
And all are Blu-Ray.
Hooray for having a friend that has now a broken Blu-Ray player :P
My wife bought Bloodrayne on DVD and I got Bloodrayne 2 out of the deal. And I didn't get forced to watch the movie with her so win :D
I picked up Saints Row 2 Collectors Edition at Fred Meyer's for $20 because they didn't realize there was a different SKU.
Grand Theft Auto Trilogy PC pack for $30 is a pretty good bargain at $10 a game when GTA3 and Vice City retail at most places for $20.
And finally, I picked up Vampire Bloodlines in Germany for 9,99 euro. CHEAP.
