Aliasalpha: I was in my local EB when they were running a sale the other day and they had Fallout 1, it was au$15 and even with $5 off, it was more expensive thsan buying on GOG and you didn't get anything but a crappy manual on disc.

I got all three Fallout games (1,2 & Tactics) for AU$15 the other day. Same place.
@ Alias I got the box too (which is what I wanted)

Romulus: It was a 'bricked' one which actually wasn't (I'll tell the full story if you like), so I collected the remaining parts from those dodgy market stalls which sell odd bits of hardware. It's been my -best- deal to date.

honorbuddy: Please do tell.

Its was a place called Second Hand Land, but I'm guessing my original plan could be done with an Ebay 360. Anyway this guy had been buying red-ringed 360s off Ebay and was selling them out of a back room.
I just happened in on the right day, asking about the console, and he told me about how he had been refurbishing them. It took some serious rolls on the charisma, but I feigned interest enough for him to show me.
One of the 360s was separate from the pile he had, so I picked it up, I had no idea, but after he sold it to me for £19 and it WORKED it seemed like some other staff member had placed it there and he'd gotten confused. I was going to fix it myself with changing the X-clamps and then baking it. But the thing booted up as soon as I plugged it in, and has been absolutely fine. Fingers crossed :D

Hahaha woah I bet someone was pissed off at the end of the day
Yea i got that Half Life steam deal for $.98 ( yea .98, it was something to do with its original release date)
I also picked up the Orange Box for around $15 which averages out to $3 a game if you count episodes 1 and 2 for HL2. Even at full price it's one of the best deals in existence.
Roughly most recent first inc P&P:
GTA 4 - £4 (like new off of eBay. That's what happens when you don't name your auction)
Chains - £1.74 (great little game. Very addictive)
Dark Messiah - £3 - (overlooked much? I really like this one)
KoTOR 2 - I can't quite remember. Something like £3
UT3 Ltd Ed Tin Case - £4 (great once it's fully patched)
Thief Deadly Shadows - £2
Bioshock - £3.50
Ultimate Dungeons & Dragons - £12 (the titles in this collection have to be seen to be believed)
Plenty more, but those are the ones I can remember right now.
Clive barkers undying and Severance blades of darkness from ebay for £1 each. Postage was about a £1 as well. They were both games I had played the demo of and enjoyed but hadn't got around to buying them when they came out.
i'm like a cheap game magnet... i wouldn't know where to begin
i'm always finding some hidden gem at a rummage sale for under $1
i also once found a Peavey TNT100 for $5 but that's not gaming related
I've never found any PC game priced under $5. Where do you people shop?
I got Thunderscape brand new for a dollar, years ago.
I got Myth 2 brand new for $0.01.

Ebay is a good place to start for online. Also when I was in america, target and walmart had some really cheap games deals.

stonebro: Not too long before: 1 USD = ~9 NOK (normal exchange rate for years and years)

9? That must have been ages ago. I can recall it being safely grounded around 7-8 for years and years, then stooping down to as low as 5.0 for a while, and is now around 6.5.
Would either have to be Redguard, which I bought for 5$ and had the BURNED MAP (holy hell), or buying an old RTS called 'Mythical Warriors' for 2$. I played that game silly, it may be pretty ugly, but damn good balanced.

That is pretty awesome.
