Huh. First I've heard of this game, but it does look like fun. And yeah, the combat system looks a bit rough. Kinda like a shoddy Mass Effect combat system, actually, but I'm not too worried.
I do like the spy vibe, though. I did a quick search on Wikipedia and the entry there gives off a real Burn Notice feel, which is a very good thing.

Alpha Protocol looks extremly hot to me. I would even say that is one of my most anticipated games for this year.

Also, I don't really see the RPG elements at work. It really only seems to be gear setup.

It looks like the RPG stuff is almost entirely secondary to the action, so I doubt I'll be getting it. Mind you, I doubt I could even run it these days, need to upgrade!

The RPG stuff is more than likely dialogue and skill based. From what I remember from earlier vids, you get extra skills or more effective use of normal skills when you put points into them. Much like in Mass Effect where you put points in assault rifles to get a smaller spread with the crosshair when firing or get better at lockpicking and the like.

I imagine the RPG elements will come out in different dialogue choices and different ways to resolve situations. I'm looking forward to this one as well. Only other new game I can think of offhand that I really want this year is Dragon Age:Origins.

Is that coming this year? I thought it was early next year

Yep, like Elerond said, it's slated for this fall. It was supposed to be out this past March but was delayed to coincide with the console launch of the game.

Yeah this game looks pretty sweet, I've been following this one for the last month and it looks like a game that is right up my alley.
This and Prototype are the only two new releases I've been looking forward to.
