Ooh, boy! I remember when I first watched that. ..... MY EARS!!!! THEY BLEED! Pitchford's dumb voice-over certainly does nothing to sell this game to me. In fact, it's having the opposite effect.

I thought the lack of any female model whatsoever in a franchise that has featured strong female roles over and over again is a pretty good sign these guys don't get Alien. They may or may not pull off the horror part, but I think this will be a dud for true fans.

Oh don't worry about that. For most fanboys, the Alien franchise is about the adventures of colonial marines because omg tey are so awsum and so badass and hudson and hicks rule and their liek "look man i only need to know one thing where they are" an thry kik ass and it woud be so awsom if ther was a predator and the terminator an they were atacked by freddy krugar (sp?) and batman.

Trust me, I've spent most of my foruming years on the AvP forums. Also have a look at all the franchise's popular by-products, from comics to toys. You'll get quite soon what Alien is about for the fans...

You mean people actually accepted Batman/Aliens as canon?

I never thought it would be possible to make an Aliens game so unimpressive- and generic-looking, but there you go. Gearbox has done the impossible.

Of course there could be the off-chance that it'll turn out to be a good game, but yeah. I'm not laying any bets on the other side.

Spot on. The only reason I'm still keeping an eye on this is for the co-op.

But hey, I'm picky. I didn't even like AvP2.

When I first heard about this game, I was kinda excited. I seem to remember that it was was going to have a strong squad-based tactical side, and put an emphasis on survival. That seems to have been dropped now? Drat.

And yes, that is a horrid Pulse Rifle sound.

Necro ftw!

Pre-ordered this game, it downloaded and "unlocked" an hour ago...


...it's missing the .exe. I cannot play this. It also seems that I am not alone, according to steam's forums.

So this is the future of gaming, huh?
