I guess the ability to speak/understand Hungarian would help get the punchline there :)

now thats just fun! :P
Well a nifty patch has been released for ACM.

It is not perfect but the Aliens are a bit smarter and do not seem to do as much stupid shit. The lighting appears to now be dynamic, and looks better. Also some parts from the controversial demo are now part of the game such as the cracking glass and what not. However, for better or worse they decided to add a film grain (not as noticeable on 1920x1080) that they are probably hoping helps make the textures look better? who knows... Now...they just need to add more aliens to the game and less of these mercenaries....But if Gearbox keeps working on it, then one day it may be a solid game. At least it is harder now.

Actually, the cracking glass is one thing that had a good reason to be removed imho. Exterior glass protecting a space station gets smashed when a fleshy body floats against it? Come on. ;) This station wouldn't survive a week in orbit, tiny bits of debris that get caught in the gravity well would constantly perforate the windows.

tsk tsk, trying to be realistic in a game involving marines fighting aliens and mercenaries on a spaceship=)

Also this was not exterior glass protecting a space ship, but a badly designed docking module with lots of windows=)

The kid speaks the truth. Hell, in a lot of ways I prefer AvP over Monolith's AvP2. The graphics may be dated as hell, but those xenomorphs can still make one shit his pants. Not to mention those Predators are way more brutal. It really is the most tense game containing Aliens that I've played thus far.

You ought to have linked to the true DRM-free version though. ;)

Hmm i'm an old player of 33 years, grown up with the NES and not a tech pro at all, but when it comes to 3D, i must admit i'm a little spoiled and games like Morrowind, Deus Ex needed a much welcome overhaul texture mod for my liking.. Fact is, most 3D engines are not aging well, but i'll look into this one eventually, as well as System Shock 2. Thanks.

If it's graphics that you're into then you may wish to check out 2010's Aliens Vs. Predator. Despite being 3 years older than A:CM it looks far superior, the character models are higher poly, the textures are higher res, the environments are more detailed and the animations are more fluid and lifelike.

AvP 2000 has one! Aliens vs Predator Classic Redux. I think it makes some changes also, I haven't checked it out, and it's a large download, but it might help.
