I Just Bought X3-terran War Pack, and The Install Seemed to Run, but when I click on Cjeck For Updates, The Install of The Update says the Game Is Not In The Director shown....
Also, When I was Reading The Comments about this game, It said in one place, "It Works With Joy Stick, Mouse, and Key Board", But under set up, I do Not see any Mouse or Key Board Options...

RDouglass1: *snip*
The gog-version is already patched to 3.4 which is the last update.

In Terran Conflict you can fly with mouse and keyboard. With the default controls you either press spacebar to activate mouseflight or click left mouse button in empty space to steer and right mopuse button to fire lasers in direction of the mouse pointer.

Controls can be changed in the option menu by clicking on the button at the bottom of the sidebar.

No idea what the first problem is unless you are using Galaxy.

The keyboard and joystick support is ALWAYS there. You can use an attached joystick or not if it is plugged in, true plug and play. No need to change any settings. This for both games.

There are settings how things work like viperfdl said.

Also, please remember to give these games some time as it takes time to learn them.

Can you rebind the controls in terran conflict? I think you needed to use outside programs in the other X3.

I Started a New Game, and It now Works with the Mouse.
I will spend some time in The Manual before spending much more time in game.....
Thanks for The Replies above.

I always rebind the shortcut for auto-docking so that can be done at least. Since I found all other alright I do not know for sure whether they can be changed or not.

You can remap almost everything from the in-game menu when it comes to mouse + keyboard. I have no idea if it also applies to joysticks or other controllers, but the options are there from what I remember.
I play the old X games almost exclusively with only the keyboard. I spent some time learning the shortcuts and flying with the mouse never felt natural for some reason.

I haven't got round to playing TC, mostly because of the frustration as the autopilot repeatedly smacked me straight into an asteroid. Might try again now I have a better graphics card, and hopefully it can keep up with the calcs.

I would say from my experience in vanilla X3, that you will get a significantly better experience if you play with a gamepad. The twin controls for both steering and strafing are essential for combat. You can do it all on keyboard, but might want to stick to the trading side of things until you're confident you can be turning in one direction while strafing up and then left or left and then down etc. which you need to do to dodge enemy fire (they will just predict a direct course and fire at where you'll be)

Thanks WPegg. I am starting as Trader, But am also finding issues with that...
Manual say to Go Into "Hole" sector, Then FIND The South Gate To "WALL"...
"Hint, The Gate is In The SE Quadrant... I Flew around that SE Quad for Two Hours, and the only thing I find is That Cattle Ranch, Just Wesy of the Southern Center Line. I Flew Paralel Lines, and Zig-Zag Patterns... Zilch on the South Gate.
Would be nice to have a Better Location Idea...

I found the constant patrolling to dig out co-ordinates to be no fun, so I always refer to one of the maps such as https://roguey.co.uk/x3tc/universe/

it gives x,y,z locations of all the known stations and gates, which makes it way easier to locate stuff on your map.

One Person, Under Game Comments, makes a Comment about people comparing this to Freelancer, But Adds It Ain't. I Agree, I Played FL for over a Decade, and there is no Comparison.
FL Used The Mouse or Keyboard, or JS. Mouse Flight Was Always Fluid, and Straight Forward.

Thank You!!!
The Manual has entry about Hitting The Number "6" Key to Bring Up Comodity List, and mine tells me That Is Not Installed. Where does that Component Come From??

The Three D Flying is still a Real Pain...
Have to Practise more to get all 3 numbers going the Right Way...

I think that's a Trading System MK2, might just be a MK1.

You'll get used to the 3D flying, doesn't take long.
