After coming home from a tiresome day at work and dealing with a pure evil boss who doesn't speak proper English, I take a shower, have a light meal.

And then before getting to gaming, I prepare either one of these fruit juices for me and my mom.

Once all prepared, I get into my bedroom with my glass(es) of juice and start gaming.

They seem good! I'd drink them. :)
I remember when I first played Unreal Tournament 2004. It went something like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNi169X0Niw

Except it was local multiplayer and death match or a similar game mode. That is maybe the second FPS I played after Alien VS. Predator Classic 2000.

I played the demo of Alien vs Predator I but back then I had no idea that I was playing the demo. That was one of the games that came with our second family PC when we moved to our second house. That was more scarier than Unreal Tournament, of course. I remember looking for a button to switch to third person mode and I never gave up looking for that button but I only had the CD and no manual. Now I know that I was playing the Demo which dropped you right in the middle of the action as the marine.

It was pitch black and I think I had a submachine gun. I had no idea how to turn on the flashlight so I used up all the ammo trying to see. I got killed once but since I was looking down at the keyboard, I probably missed the Xenomorph. So, that was good. The game was unnerving enough without any aliens. They did a good job on the score to set the unsettling mood.

That's why I purchased those two games on GOG and they are still the same. Still scared of AVP and I'm surprised that the movie is less scarier.
A Gaming Take on "In Summer" by Olaf the Snowman
From Frozen

Oh, the bees will buzz
Kids will blow dandelion fuzz
And I'll be doing what a gamer does
In Summer!

A drink in my hand
Hot air from my GPU fan
Trying to schedule a party of LAN
In Summer!

I’ll sleep through the days
So I won't see the sun
I'll game all through the night
Until the gaming's done

And I can’t wait to see
What my buddies all think of me!
Just imagine how much cooler I’ll be
In summer!

Da da… Da doo
A bah bah ba baba boo

Gaming and summer are both so intense
Put ’em together, it just makes sense!

Rat dadat dadat dadat dadadadadoo

Winter’s a good time to stay in and play games
But the summer is perfect for ----
Also playing games!

When life gets rough I like to hold on to my dream
Of relaxing in the summer sun choosing GOG instead of steam!

Oh the sky will be blue
And you guys’ll be there too
When I finally do what gamers do
In summer!
Not quite on topic but:

When I think games and summer, I think back to the time summer mattered, specifically school. Now that was a time before the internets, so, plenty of time to game but no one to ask for advice if/when I got stuck, especially on facts that were readily supplied in the manual (uhhhh).

I was 12. It was nominally the last day of school, and we had a class trip to a certain tourist attraction. Just a month before, I'd finished Champions of Krynn, and was replaying it and gearing up to play the second part.

As I was waiting in the lobby, I met my best friend, 4 years senior, also a gamer, who had just finished school for good, so we stepped into a teacher's room and talked. There were no spoilers back then, only good advice, so I remembered to beware of the lich, and to follow the red doors, and to write down the damn password. The class assembled and went by the doorway in an orderly but raucous line. My mom, a volunteer TA, ran by the window holding a kid's hand, catching up. Still we talked, then said our good lucks, and I bought some pop-star-branded lollipops and went home to wait for mom to return and let me in, because I didn't have my own copy of the keys.

As for the attraction, sure it sounded exciting, but I'd thought I could always go there by myself, without an annoying teacher telling me to not lean on this or jump off that or whatever.

That summer, the attraction burned down.

No regrets.

Go buy the game that possibly cost me the best experience in my life right here, it's awesome.

PS. The password is 'Denissa'. It's been a bloody eternity and I still remember.
Playing something cool and with lot of snow helps with summer heat! Atlhough I wish this game had some polar bear replant! Mosquitoes are less of a menace then girl and fox eating bears in Never Alone game. Snow ball fight like this one in Witcher 3 also helps to cool things a bit down during sultry summer days.

Linko90: How do you mix your love of gaming with the summer?
terribly - beer turns warm so fast and allergy ruins gaming experience. Wish there will be autumn soon
I have to go on vacation, drink a lot of alcohol and improve my social life, while trying to avoid an excess of exposure to harmful solar radiation. With that stressful agenda, my available time for gaming is greatly reduced, thus leading to severe withdrawal symptoms.
Winter is the official season for gaming, Summer is good for... insects?
I'm playing the first Danganronpa in the morning, Metroid Prime in the afternoon, then I scream curses at Monster Hunter Freedom while waiting for dinner, then Castlevania 3 while drinking things to obnubilate my mind, and Steins Gate at 2:00 in the night to relax.

Pretty much what I'd do if we were in winter.

My agenda is pretty full. Good thing I don't have a job!

Ahah!

*sigh*

I won't lie, summer ain't really a gaming season for me. In spring and summer my gaming time is mostly reduced to short bursts in the evening, preferably with some funny, lighthearted adventure games, or maybe some particularly mindless and not too frustrating action games. It would be a shame to ruin a perfectly good summer day by smashing my keyboard :D
It's a good time stockpile stuff to play in the winter though!

Still, I do remember some summers spent more on playing Heroes of Might and Magic or Diablo than seeing the outside world. I think it was 2002, Heroes of Might and Magic IV was released shortly before the summer vacation, and playing the shit out of that game was my number 1 plan for the next two months. I regret nothing.

There is a world cup every year, i didn't specify any form of sport.

I've pretty much sworn off of GOG's contests ever since this.
