J Lo: What do you think of the third film? That one got a lot of flak. I still love the first two.
It's definitely not as good as 1 and 2, but I still enjoy it. The "emo maguire" stuff I actually enjoy, it's about what a nerd would do with no restrictions. Worst thing in the movie is the Sandman stuff.

I'm the opposite. I didn't like the emo stuff but I enjoyed the Sandman story.

I just don't think there is a Sandman story, he sees his daughter once and otherwise is just a bunch of fights. The retcon with him being involved in Ben's murder is dumb. Then at the end he says "whoops sorry" and flies off. I don't think it has any meat on it whatsoever, and obviously got lost in the shuffle of a very busy movie.

AnimalMother117: Eh, I'd rather we get the 2000 game, honestly.

deja65: Not gonna happen for a long time if ever. Activision was the licence holder of the Spider Man IP(the games part of it) for almost two decades. They lost it to Sony that doesn’t care or can’t rerelease the old ones because Activision doesn’t allow it. Would love for it to happen but i think those are lost to the sands of time sadly( i know that they can be played from “other”sources). Cheers
Bit of a shame really. Played that quite a bit as a kid. The comic book collecting in that game is actually what got me to start collecting old comic books in real life. Ah well.
Character design, combat, and traversal are fantastic, and New York City is incredibly detailed, but actual open world content is lacking, with a lot of copy paste encounters and generic outposts/radio towers. However, the story is fantastic and really captures Spiderman's emotions near the end.
we nvr got days gone, god of war, uncharted, any of the quantic dream PS games.

so no, i wouldn't hold my breath on this.

but hey, one can always hope :)
Any chance to get Spider-man here? GOG have Horizon but not others games like Days Gone or GOW.

GOG will never get another AAA game again and go out of business and we will be sad or happy. (╯ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)╯︵ ┻━┻

J Lo: It looks like there's something that hinders DRM free games from coming here, and I'm curious as to what that is. Crusader Kings 3 was DRM free from day one, but oddly still hasn't made it to GoG.

Also, have you tried the Miles Morales Spider-Man game? Do you get to play as the Spider-Cat?
I think its the smaller audience doesnt make it worth it. You can mock Epic:s weekly giveaway strat all you want, they definitely made a huge userbase in a short amount of time and given the fact that steam no longer does super cheap sales to make buying from steam cheaper than other storefronts, I honestly dont see why a new user will stick with steam.

Havent played MM yet but definitely plan to do so once I get one for a good price. I did hear that MM is much shorter than the original.

Regarding Spider-cat, I dont think you get to control the cat directly or really attack with it. Its more like an extra cinematic feature from what Ive heard.

Because the average user wants all their games and social connections on one platform for convenience reasons. That's why Valve had the strategy they did early on, boosting their numbers as fast as possible with "free" Steamworks for developers and tons of sales.

Epic is playing a massive game of catch up and while their freebies and such might get them attention, I still see zero reason for anyone to CHOOSE Epic over Steam if all other things are equal (price, etc.).

GOG is a niche platform for a niche audience, which they recently seem to have accepted (again).

Have they? I mean, I know millions of people play Fortnite, but have they actually released numbers about how many people actually spend money on the Epic store?

How many people repeatedly spend money every... lets say, 3-6 months? Because that would be a "userbase".

I don't know if they have, but even if they haven't, one thing remains certain either way: EGS most definitely has a vastly bigger marketshare than GOG does. GOG is nothing compared to EGS in terms of having a paying userbase.

Why you think gog is for a niche audience?
For what i read in some forums even on reddit some people use GOG like a primary platform.
GOG in some years can be another steam if modern games continue like this (tons of DLC, NFT's and microtransitions) the old players are sick and tired of modern games (myself too) and thats why i make a account here to play old games and relieve some moments from the past.
For example if we one day get here the 3d era GTA's the nostalgia will be huge like the PS2 times and that is what make GOG unique.

Is it understandable that GOG hardly get any mainstream AAA games here, and there's not much they can do about that?

GOG makes something like 40 million a year compared to Steam's billions a year, and has like a 1-5% marketshare (although we don't get much sales data) compared to Steam's 50-75%.
