kai2: Technomancer is a sequel to Mars War Logs. So, if you love the cyber/gear-punk Mars world Spiders created, check out Mars War Logs as well.
I actually played a demo of War Logs waaaaay back when on console when it released as an XBox Arcade game. I remember really enjoying my short time with it and it was what made Technomancer an even easier pickup (I figured if I only played one I might as well go with the new shiny ;) ). I like Technomancer enough that I'll actually probably end up playing War Logs. I'm pretty sure I heard the story of Mars takes place *after* Technomancer, even though it's the first game so even though it's the older game it might still feel like I played them in the right order.

entroumi: Btw, do you recommend controller or keyboard and mouse?
For console action-like games like these I always go controller. Rolling around in combat just feels better when mashing buttons and snapping around to quick target / rotate the camera feels better to me as well. I played Witcher 2 / 3, Elex and now Technomancer with a controller and I think I'd have a hard time mustering the enthusiasm to try a Keyboard / Mouse playthrough.

The only one I ever tried K/M with was Witcher 2, back after release of the Enhanced Edition because I 1) really had only ever used K/M on computer and 2) I actually didn't realize the wireless Xbox controller USB cable is NOT capable of transmitting data LOL. It's strictly for charging - you need a dongle adapter to receive the wireless buttonpress transmissions.

The combat was MUCH more difficult. I could maybe see Elex being okay K/M but if you go for Technomancer or War Logs I'd try controller first.

entroumi: Thanks for recommendations :) I actually was thinking of checking out Mars: War Logs, since it's the only Spiders game I own and every now and then I fee like want to play it, but instead I get distracted by other things. I used to have Technomancer on my steam wishlist prior to release and bit after that, but it seems at some point I removed it for some reason I don't remember now. Btw, do you recommend controller or keyboard and mouse?
I played on PS4 (controller) and have heard earlier in this thread that some have found the action difficult to control via K/M... although if you look at the Steam page many are playing K/M. Personally, I always play 3rd person real-time action games with controller.

Not really important, but because I am a geek... Mars War Logs and Technomancer take place simultaneously but in different cities.

Re Greedfall...

Looked up some people talking about game events and companion-initiated events that never happened in my playthrough. I also noticed that there were a number of trophies that were listed as "very rare" and "ultra rare" that I felt were necessary for finishing the game. This leads me to think that either most don't finish the game... or there are multiple ways of completing the game.

Ixamyakxim: I'll second this - I'm playing it (Technomancer) right now and having a blast. I actually really enjoy the combat. I haven't played Greedfall but after my experience and enjoyment of Technomancer I'll have no problem snatching it up as soon as it shows up.
Technomancer was much better than I thought it would be. I'd go as far as saying the combat in Technomancer is actually more fun and balanced than Greedfall. However Greedfall surpasses it in every other area.

Over the last two months I played through all of the Spiders RPGs in a row. All of them are enjoyable even with their quirks. Bound by Flame is probably the hardest to get into, although I really liked it by the end and was disappointed how short it was.

If anyone is interested in the length of the games. I try to do all side quests, listen to all the dialog and read all lore. If you just do the main quest as fast as possible you can probably cut these times in half.

Mars: War Logs - 10 hours
Bound by Flame - 15 hours
Technomancer - 28 hours (I skipped two side quests because I was sick of dealing with respawns by the end)
Greedfall - 48 hours
