It's gotta be an issue with Galaxy. I've tried fiddling with every setting I can and rebooted etc. Nothing helps. I downloaded Grim Dawn over browser super fast, install it and all expansions, then startup Galaxy and it finds Grin Dawn and proceeds to start downloading the whole thing, at .2 MB/S...

had the same problem as the most recent posts here described. not sure if this fixed it or not, but while adding the GOG client and client helper executables to the Windows Firewall whitelist, I eventually got full speed back (~320Mbit, maxing out my connection). maybe that did it, or maybe the client just randomly "woke up".
Same to me. I wanted to download Cyberpunk 58GB, but DL speed is 0,5MB/s. I have 600Mbit fiber internet connection so. It is very strange.
Downloading at 0.5mb/s from GOG Galaxy.. I'll be able to play my game by next week.

What do you expect when everyone and their mother is going to be downloading a 35-gig patch today?
I was having the same issue. I have gigabit service. I was getting .3-.5 m. I went into setting in the GoG launcher, upper eft corner in library. Turned on bandwidth cap (it was off already) set it to 1000, then immediately turned it to unlimited again. also connected my Steam and Epic accounts. I am now getting 25-35 mega BYTES not bits, still not great but way better. I have no idea what helped or if nothing helped and the connection just randomly got better. I did speed tests during the download and it was 600plus Mbps. Anyway thats what I did , hope it helps someone

Can confirm, your trick works! Went from 1 - 5 MB/s to 36 MB/s. Thank you!

This helped, thanks!
My problem was with the throttle speed. GOG doesn't measure MB/s properly for some reason. i.e. I wanted a 3 MBps cap, so in the download bandwidth limit setting I set 3, and I was getting 1MBps. uncapped it and it maxed out my bandwidth at 4.5 MBps. Set it to 10 in settings and it's now puling 3.5 MBps.

I can confirm that, it's offset by a factor of 3.
Download speed capped at 11 mb/s occasionally when I mess around with the limit bandwidth, it’ll jump to 16 mb/s but it will go back down to 11 mb/s. I don’t understand everywhere else download speed are from 25mb/s-35mb/s. I tried connecting my steam, epic, and Xbox accounts like a previous post suggested but it did not work.
Anyone knows a solution to this? It’ll be greatly appreciated.
I got Quake II from GOG, I could have got it from Steam at the same price. Now I'm stuck at 32% installing, with a really super slow downloading, which now is stopped at 400 mb.

I tried the tips I found in this thread. No joy.

This is not very fun...but maybe in the next days I will complete the download, install the game and start my trip down memory lane. Maybe :-)

Thank you, I missed that thread, sorry. Today the download started at a good speed, but now it's back at 0.1 Mb/s.

I will try again in the next days.

Edit:
08 october 2021: all is good now, downloaded and installed, playing nice :-)

Hey guys. I was trying to download SOMA minutes ago and initially the speed was good around 30-40 mb as usualy but then suddenly started getting lower and lower and got down to 5mb so I started looking for any possible problems and I paused the the download to try and restart - sometimes it helps. So I read some ideas here too that I'd try but I have another problem and it is probably a really stupid question but .... how in the world do you resume downloading game if you have a few updates waiting. In my case I have the game and a NWN update waiting that I don't need so I don't want to resume it. All I see is that Resume all button on top. I tried clicking on the download line for the game but that brings me to the page of the game. Tell me you can resume the download you want ? ... Please :(

Edit: Resume all seems to work just for the game and not for the update so I got that and the speed is all over the place going back to normal and down to 5 again but thankfully the game is not that big as a size

Slow download when using GOG Galaxy.
1MB/s while i have 10MB/s speed.
Download/upload while using other application is normal = max download speed.

Funny thing is when i downloading with 1MB/s my internet slows down (it's blocked, can even surf) even i have 9MB/s left. My guess is Galaxy client is poorly written. No bandwidth limit is turned on. Please fix it! When i pause 1MB/s download internet speed suddenly goes normal.

When try to download thru web site, speed is even more criminal. But at least, my internet isn't broken,
