kohlrak: It's not that they're tooting their own horn, it's just that every time they make a new toot it becomes more invasive. I heard about this game a while ago, and decided i wasn't interested. Apparently, gog doesn't feel that's OK, so they're making really invasive ads.
This is their turf, their game, their prerogative. It's what all companies (ALL companies) do with their own new product. To think they should tone down their advertising just because you're not interested is naive in the extreme.
I have to admit that GOG has ceased to please. And the problems are heating up and aggravated:
The terrible redesign and inability of the staff to admit it, stubbornly believing that complains is solely due to the rejection of the new by the users, and not because the redesign is really awful.
The inadequate curation system, which clearly failed, replenishes GOG with garbage, and at the same time rejects excellent games.
Now also hyperaggressive advertising. It should be noted that this Thronsomething is advertised more aggressively than the Witcher^ Wild Hunt, which is in itself absurd.
One thing is not clear: What can I do?
It would be interesting to invite the community to express its opinion on these events by rating the game "1", but I do not see the point, and I doubt that the community is able to organize in this way.

Seems like they made a hole "game" as a gateway to Gwent? and Gwent is a lootbox card shop right? hmmm not suprised over the pushing for this title then.

What I don't like about the pushing of Thronebreaker is that is is burying Project Warlock.

Project Warlock is a timed exclusive which should have been given more publicity on the front page since if it does well it shows other publishers that GOG can be a viable place to sell there games.

The excessive push of Thronebreaker though could really hurt Project Warlock and make people think twice about giving GOG a chance if Project Warlock doesn't do well and the Developer/Publisher of that game feel they got treated poorly by GOG because they favoured a game that really didn't need this much of a push do to how popular the Witcher franchise has become.
The banner doesn't bother me, but that's only because I've pretty much stopped visiting the front page, given how useless it is now, so I don't see it. I'm not interested in Thronebreaker because there's no Mac version. (And given that it's using Unity and should be fairly trivial to make Mac + Linux versions, why not? More money for little effort.)

I think this is a fair assumption.
It feels managment in GOG just got crazy and incapable of acting wisely for the business... or what remains of it.
I think maybe the reason they are pushing this release so much is that they decided not to release it on Steam or anywhere else for that matter , so I guess they have to try and sell a shit load on here. I personally think its a stupid move, talk about limiting your ability to sell it. Also forcing people to buy it here is a little hypocritical as they are starting to behave just like Steam.
The gameplay footage looks impressive. Thx for including goodies such as soundtrack. All I need now is to complete a couple of side quests to earn enough coin to buy this game! Wishlisted for now. ;)

I see you've got Hero-U, high five! It's a great game, huh?
Any chance for a Linux version later on ?

No. There is no chance.

25 or 26 euros is not that much for a good game , i paid that for xulima, i saw the screenshots in a (paper) gameplay magazine and i checked some video and i bought it, at Steam cause i did not know whether GOG would have it aswell ... buying a game at 25 euro at steam ( thats mister DRM) means the game was good, very good in my opinion cause i dont spend more then 19.99 , usually 14.99 at one game and usually DRM free games.

Anyway: it is a card game , thats not bad but many images make it look like rpg, a few screens had the cards shown...
so its no buy ....

Same here i just press skip , and the site is still very awkward to navigate, images are much to large...
small images would suffice, (evil)Steam still seems to be using the small images, hope they never change that cause its easy and quite fast to find what i'm looking for...

check attachment: storepop+new

i made the page black and only the tabs show ( no names no sales no % off its just to show how simple it is (press the tabs and it stays on same page, no different page no scrolling to the bottom to see the new and news

Popular New Releases New Releases under 10 Eu

.............................................................................................................. .............. ..............................

under 5 eu

scrolling down shows tha tabe All new releases , pressing it and new page shows ( hyperlink)
and a easy menu to the right ( on screen)

i only check the checkboxes : games , windows, single player, english, and the game checkbox this shows games , NO DLC ( maybe it has a flaw i dont know cause i wont check all the hundreds of pages ) but it shows games , DLC filter is redundant cause if done properly it should be shown at the games' storepage ●‿●
the only big mistake they made is the alck of a etxtbox to type in a number so you can jump to that page instead of clicking manually through a thousand pages or more (✖﹏✖)

Pond86: It is about the banner. Its about the banner being above another massive banner which means even at 1920x1080 you have the whole screen just showing two massive banners.

I have to scroll down 4 times just to get to the top part of the normal store when they do this.

MarkoH01: Exactly THAT. There is advertizing and there is scaring people away because of massive intrusive advertizing. Sometimes less is more ;)
Valve is on Steam, changes are big they also promote their own games with huge banners and images.
Anyway i understand your upset, i dont like huge banners or anyhting huge at al for that matter , normally i would addblock and ript it permanently ( 2 old but very good addons which are legacy so new FF has to do go new adblock that doesnt block everything cause they whitelisted lots of big sites ( paid?)

Lifthrasil: Now this is something that doesn't surprise me at all! ;-)
Galaxy should have been here from the minute they started, IF they had done it that way users would be familiar and used to it, Steam = evil and has DRM and has a behemoth of a Steam client but we all knew that, we were warned.
GOG was so anti forced clients ...... and we got used to NOT having to use any client ( optional or not) thats why many joined, i also joined because of NO client.

OK GOG, I'm usually pretty laid-back with the website but this Thronebreaker ad is extremely annoying! The only thing you did partly right there was add a "Never see this again" option.

Next time, don't make me click through an ad even once. I use ad-blocking software for a reason.
