General Troubleshooting
-----------------------

If you're experiencing black screen / crash on launch, please try the following:

- Before starting the game, change video resolution to your desktop one (or the closest match). if that fails, try falling back to 1024x768. Video settings can be found under GOG Galaxy HERE
-- or in Start Menu HERE.
- Close any unnecessary applications running in the background, especially ones overlay-based like EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, GeForce Experience, FRAPS etc.
- If running multiple screen setup, try switching to a single monitor.

If none of the above helps, please send your DxDiag to our Support team HERE. The more information we have, the easier it will be to pinpoint the problem.

May the Force serve you well.

TARFU: Donkeys, man. Donkeys.
I found it. It was folded up between two of my Harry Potter books.

it's Anakin one side and Sabulba on the other.

Damn those donkeys and their waffle making skills.

DarkSaber2k: Game doesn;t even load for me. Set the resolution as some reviews suggested. Loading bar gets maybe a 5th of the way and just stops.

EDIT: Tried different resolution settings, different compatibility settings. Same result, game crashes on Windows 10 64 bit barely a 5th into thye loading bar.
Same deal for me on 2 different computers running Win 10 64bit build 1803

tfishell: Fck off you obnoxious sht, this game is working well for many people.

tinyE: You do know he would have made that post for any game they released yesterday, and he will continue to do so every Tuesday and Thursday.
Yeah. At this point I need to try to just ignore it. Obviously he has something wrong with him and likes to hold a grudge. Or he's trolling us.

I'm not convinced he is really in Cuba. I doubt Cubans could even get access to GOG. Isn't their internet controlled/firewalled like NK and Communist China?

I think he's just a run of the mill troll.
Bought it today and getting the same "rdroid_gnome release build" error that many others are getting. Tried all the fixes suggested in the comments/forum such as disabling other program overlays and changing the game resolution and none of it has worked. The game just crashes no matter what I do. Running Windows 7 64 bit, GTX 1060, 16gb RAM, and an i7 processor. Is there no fix? Are they working on a patch for this? It would really pain me to have to ask for a refund for this since I loved this game and want to play, but since I simply can't it feels like a waste of money.

One more thing to try - just changing the resolution won't work, since the original game includes its own separate client for setting resolution. To access it, right click the game inside gog galaxy, select other -> video options. A really old "racer" program should open and let you change the resolution launch settings. Select your native resolution at 16 bit color, then hit apply. It should close the program. Then try to run again through the galaxy client.

Holko: Starting Video Settings in either of these ways brings up the exact same rdroid_gnome error. No browser running, no overlays I know of (not sure how to properly disable Geforce Experience, but I tried).

flightsaber: There is a separate client built into this game just for changing resolution settings, which needs to match in order to not throw an error. It can be accessed through the galaxy client by right-clicking the game -> other -> video settings. I've attached an image to show you what the client looks like when it launches correctly. I have also set my compatibility to windows 98/ME on top of that.

Good luck!
Excuse me, have you even read what you were replying to? Starting that Video Settings client in any way brings up the exact same rdroid_gnome release build stopped working.

Yeah, I know about all that and I've tried it. Still doesn't work. Same error and crashes immediately every single time. Hell, I tried every resolution option on the drop down list just for good measure and same result no matter what.
Does this support local multiplayer?

Don't know if it is any good, but this came up first while searching for the error: Link

Maybe it is worth a try, good luck!
Thank you for releasing this game. My favorite classic. Thanks!
For anyone that is having difficulty getting the game to register their L2 and R2 buttons (as they are analog) on their DS4, consider using XInput Plus

Thiev: It was a console port after all ;)
Is this a port or the PC release? *confused is*

I mean, the game was released for PC as well.
I asked for a refund. Unfortunatly I also get the "gdroid"-error, and the troubleshooting with the GOG-staff didnt help.

Ever since switching to win10 lots of GOG games dont work anymore, its a real shame because that was what GOG was originally about - Old games that work on new systems. Now its more like "the game has a HIGHER CHANCE to work"
