I remember how they botched the Z remaster, so I have my doubts on this one.
I'll probably grab it during a sale, but otherwise it seems a bit overpriced at the moment. Perhaps £15 would have been more reasonable?
Oh, this comes out already?

Cool :)
Played through the entire campaign today, clocks in at around 6 hours all told. Essentially the same game it always has been but with a new cover mechanic. Its a decent game and if you like the character and the storylines in the 2000AD comic it is worth it, there is multiplayer but no a great deal going on just yet on it.
I've played the original - nice, not too long, shooter - but I don't see why I want to play the same game again? Just for shinier graphics and the cover mechanic? Sorry, not for me, no time for that.
It's hard to understand why game companies spend the effort to remaster games where already the original version of the game does not sell too well (Rogue Trooper is around rank 850 on GOG's best selling list and already has been discounted up to 85% to increase sales) and then try to sell the remastered version at triple the price of the original? Do they run out of new ideas that much?

Even the difference in technology isn't that big to justify a re-purchase of the game for me, at least not at such a price. Things like "new special effects" rather draw me off than encourage me. And according to the game card the remastered version partially even is inferior to the original version as it does not have Mac OS support (not to talk about Linux support) and it requires Galaxy for multiplayer while the original game supports LAN multiplayer mode.

Unfortunately we already have seen how that may end. In a helpless attempt to increase the sales of the remastered version the original version will be removed from sale...

slap an enb on there, couple of prefab shaders and sit back and watch the cash roll in. Is that more effort than years f development, creativity, testing, support, marketing etc. With the distinct possibility of a product flop?

You still need the cash to roll in. Who will buy such a halfhearted remaster when even the original game does not sell well? Are there really so many people which can waste their money on such a cash grab?

Unfortunately there are, hence why there are so many remasters around now.

I believe like many of these remasters PC gamers are not the actual target audience. It was mainly made to peddle it to console gamers, who don't have access to the original, again.
Nice
I like the look of the remaster, but sadly, my computer is simply not powerfull enough, so I stay with the old version.
Come on guys, do not be so negative, i bought and i am currently playing it on Xbox One, it is a great game, the new generation deserves to have a go on classics like this.
Speaking about the actual game, i finished the classic when the news about the remaster emerged and can confirm that the Redux is a legit upgrade, so cool to play.
Let's keep the good and positive mood!

Upgrade in what way? Like a new content, extended gameplay options or just HD graphics, while content stays the same?
