lordb0rb4: Come on guys, do not be so negative, i bought and i am currently playing it on Xbox One, it is a great game, the new generation deserves to have a go on classics like this.
Speaking about the actual game, i finished the classic when the news about the remaster emerged and can confirm that the Redux is a legit upgrade, so cool to play.
Let's keep the good and positive mood!

Tarhiel: Upgrade in what way? Like a new content, extended gameplay options or just HD graphics, while content stays the same?
I ma just trying to understand what do you mean by legit.
No new content, but gameplay-wise it is alot better and tweaked, if by HD you mean only resolution bear in mind it has been remade from effect to textures.
Xbox live, PSN and GOG Galaxy is a great and easy way to play coop too, not to mention achievements adn trophies!

ShaunRoberts: Well they say the tweaked the cover mechanics in some way to make it better, i have no idea how since im only just downloading the classic version so i suppose someone will eventually tell us
It is just automatic now, works pretty well but do not expect anything like Gears of War.
TBH i'm not a fan of cover gameplay on Rogue Trooper, firing from the hip gives the game an arcade and fast paced feel, much like 2000 A.D represents him.

mistermumbles: I believe like many of these remasters PC gamers are not the actual target audience. It was mainly made to peddle it to console gamers, who don't have access to the original, again.
OK, that at least sounds like a valid reason for such a remake.
So is removing LAN now considered a classic move?
I'm usually a little on the fence but I'll riskly say that DarkSaber2k's release stream had me adding it to the basket and stuff ;P
There seems to be so much red lighting in this redux/remake/remaster/rehash that they might as well have called it Rouge Trooper.

Yeah, I've had a habit of tracking down RT and replaying it once a year whenever I remember it exists. The old version was still alright but old age is catching up with it. Only playing a little of the Redux so far it does look like they've passed by a few opportunities to improve the campaign and storytelling. Was nice to see the addition of singleplayer taylored versions of those extra co-op missions though.
Edit: Credit where credit is due, Rogue now wears canonical GI pants.
