The Norse remember.

Vikings - Wolves of Midgard, a brutal action-RPG drenched in the bloody Norse mythology, is available now for pre-order, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 15% pre-order discount.

When gods go to battle, all us mortals can do is hope for the least cruel to emerge victorious. But not the proud Viking warriors of the Ulfung clan - no, they are determined to interfere. After the monstrous Jotan trample on their village in their march against the Gods of Asgard, the so-called Wolves of Midgard will take up arms and hunt the giants down, looking for revenge. Sacrificing your enemies' blood to the Gods will give your Viking warrior of shieldmaiden incredible powers as will the Gods' amulets, that you can find in your travels through this cold, unforgiving land. Going against the Jotan is no easy feat, though, and the assistance of a fellow warrior in co-op mode might go a long way towards defeating these oversized bastards.

Pre-order Vikings - Wolves of Midgard and get ready to defy Ragnarok and restore your clan's name, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 15% discount will last for the duration of the pre-order period.

anothername: How diverse is character creation? Background artwork lets assume female protagonist; screens looks not like it. Free creation or wangfest?
avatar
OliD: The last screenshot shows a female protagonist (and the third one probably too). Also there's one in the trailer during the co-op part (0:53).
Thanks :) Yeah, read later in the Steam Pre-Order description that it also contains stuff for the female char which also gave a bit of a clue about its diversity. I'll keep my eyes on the game. The features read interesting with the viking village building. Might be a bit more meaty than the usual slasher.
Finally a real game again after all that indie shovelware. Don't get me wrong, indie devs can create great games as well, such as the age of decadence, but recently alot of "games" were released here which looked simplistic.
Hmm, Vikings. Sounds fun. Looks like an action game though, probably hack and slash. That's not a problem. But i wonder; is it something like Din's Curse?

Lodium: Kalypso is only the publisher
it seams Games Farm is the game dev unless im reading it wrong.
avatar
DaKarach: I am well aware of the fact that Kalypso is a publisher. I am sorry for Games Farm, but I don't trust Kalypso and i won't support them ever again.
Is that because of the tropico games or demonicon or maybe crookz?
So far i have no bad experience with kalypso. Well, my only gripe is to install extra software to play the first templar. But that is something EA and Ubisoft also does and not to forget steam.
I have more problems with Deep Silver, as they don't care about the players.

I bought Legends of Pegasus. The game wasn't even half finished, the developers went bancrupt during release and Kalypso made a customer service disaster out of it. It was horrible, disgusting and the next three games weren't a lot better. I won't burn my fingers again ;)

OUCH!
Sorry bro. I mean, this game actually caught my eye, so I might be a little guilty afterall ;p
avatar
opIgra: Looks like Titan Quest with a Viking skin. Anyway, quite delicious :)
Hoping for the same.
But wishlisting for now.

Yeah, Legends of Pegasus was a total disaster. Overhyped as much as No Man's Sky and made by people who weren't able to deliver what they promised. Another leason in the "do not preorder".
Hi everybody.
Feel free to have almost a full hour of gameplay as well as Dev-commentary here:

Whoever was the lead writer on this game failed at viking-lore 101.

It is Jotun, not Jotan.

Shame! No Linux/Mac versions on GOG....again :(

Woolytoes: Shame! No Linux/Mac versions on GOG....again :(
No Linux, no Multiplayer, no bonus for buying it before it is out. GOG and Kalypso do not give me an answer about this situation since friday.

Good point! Have only seen the missing Linux/Mac versions on the first glance. Which killed the deal on GOG for me already.

But couldn’t agree more. Don't buy it before it is out. Not even on Steam!

This is so typical for Kalypso . Na! Not going to buy it. Not supporting this <censored> behaviour.
Can this also be played offline single player? The preview they had hinted at online co-op play.

Hey unerde, you're one of the devs, right?

One small question, everybody on Steam that pre-purchases the game gets a couple pre-order bonuses, will we on gog get them as well?
