Shadowstalker16: 1.Not when compared to the real games it isn't.
2. I understand it is, but most people already know of the anime and many people think it came first (no one in my college I've talked to knew there was a game before the anime that started things off), and even then, its a good way to milk the franchise, but it troubles me to see a franchise I love being put on the cutting board to be cut into pieces of retarded social game BS.
3.The first sentence answers it then :D Also, what you said probably doesn't apply to people born after 1994 with social media accounts and smartphones today.
Either way, I'm sure you understand I'm not arguing anything factual but more ranting about it because of my feelings. I feel its a part of the senseless protectiveness we / I feel toward our favorite franchises and the cynicism that comes with other interpretations of those franchises.
Gilozard: 1) Opinions are always subjective. You gave your opinion, other people have different opinions. I see you are from a non-native-English country, so perhaps you just haven't been taught the word correctly? Subjective means "relating to the way a person experiences things in his or her own mind". Saying "this game is garbage" is always subjective because that's an opinion, it's a person's reaction to something. Saying "this game allows you to capture 250 pokemon" is objective.
2) Can we please not have fandom purity wars in this forum? I know it's super tempting but I hope everyone here is over middle school age and can resist the urge.
3) Stereotyping people based on their social media use is stupid. For one thing, this forum counts as social media, and I know you're on here all the time. For one, social media use has no correlation with anything important, it's jsut too widespread.
1. I know. That's why I said its a rant. I feel bad about it but know everything is right with the whole thing and its just the game being successful. But hype is annoying, especially when its about a dumber mobile version of a game that's been around for years.
2. I'm actually not into the fandom at all. Its that people are getting hyped up for a spin-off with little mechanical similarity to the original game is what I'm pissed off about. I'm not even ''hardcore'' into the pokemon ''fandom'', whatever that entails.
3. Yeah, but its convenient. Like a thousand other things like calling people kids or 12-year-olds when they're being dumb. Its more linking the person you're referring (insulting?) to to a particular stereotype like a social media butterfly or angry kid on the internet. Not like I'm gonna draw conclusions on people's intelligence from their social media hours or anything.
Yes, but we more commonly refer to systems like these as 'forums' and systems like facebook and twitter as 'social media' although almost all of the internet is technically 'social media'.
