paladin181: Maybe even more useless. They didn't move to Discord because it's good for immortalizing discussion or archiving information. They moved there because it's a terrible platform for communication of that type, making it easier to forget things they don't want to think about, and harder to get people on board with asking for things.
100%. The notion that a company the size of Ubisoft can't afford to maintain a customer forum is laughable. It's clearly a tactic to, as you say, disrupt awkward questions/requests.

While this is mostly true, many of their channels are thread-only, so as long as people keep upvoting and commenting on the link I have provided, it'll remain at the top. Same as a forum thread would.

I agree that it's still bad that they're closing the forums though. We can no longer just google for user-supplied solutions to problems. It's now all hidden behind a 3rd party account, even if someone were to bother transferring said solutions. That's just one of many reasons it's bad.
Ubisoft Forums always were the most unuseful and confuse thing I can imagine. I also suspect they basically ignored them and were "de facto" abandoned long time ago. Nothing too dramatic is lost getting rid of them and they knew it.

But instead of remaking the thing they go for the Discord way of things. A tool that I dislike a lot to be used as a forum susbstitute.
A big thank you to everyone who have contributed to my GOG thread! Thanks to your support, Ubisoft have now responded with the following statement:
"Hey guys,

We'll pass this feedback on to the relevant teams but can't guarantee further GOG releases as ultimately these decisions are made by other, higher teams.

Thank you!"

While this is by no means the end of the battle, at least our desires were acknowledged. Due to the threaded nature of Ubisoft's Discord, as long as we continue to upvote and comment, the GOG thread will continue to stay at the top of their feedback channel! Thank you again!

That's a very nice way to say "Shut the f** up, you morons!" :D

Nah, let's hope for the best.

amok: "don't call us, we will call you"
If that is indeed the real message, then it won't stop us, or certainly me, from continuing to "call them".
The forum shutting down suggests to me that Ubisoft doesn't care what people think. I'm sure they got what ever algorithms and internal logic for best strategy for making money.

That's modern Ubisoft in a nutshell. I do not expect to see anything else from them here going forward.

Yup, that quoted statement from Ubisoft is 100% meaningless PR speak.

SargonAelther: Also what would you suggest we should do as consumers?
I would suggest to start a movement here on the GOG forum, and petition GOG itself to ask for one of their contacts at Ubisoft (and also the other big publishers who have some games on GOG but who still rarely release games on GOG), the same people who GOG talked to when they made agreements for their few games that are already here, to host an AMA here on the GOG forum, where the GOG community can ask them questions directly in hopes to get to the bottom of why exactly Ubisoft and other such publishers refuse to release most of their games on GOG, and what could be done to convince them to do so, if anything.

Ice_Mage: That's the roadblock for me right there. I'd love to see the original Prince of Persia, the sequel, The Forgotten Sands, and the Sands of Time Remake -- if that ever gets released. But I'm not going to sign up for a Ubisoft account so I can beg them to let me give them my money.
Well this roadblock has now been lifted. They're shutting down their forums and moving to discord. Feel free to poke them now, by commenting, if you care and use Discord.

If AC Unity came here to GOG, that would need probably Galaxy Support for the MP and/or LAN/TCP-IP.

I'd love to see a lot of the AC2 and newer AC games hit PC - but, I'm probably dreaming here...until it gets super-old; Ubi's willing to go DRM-FREE on some titles and let those gets be re-worked; and UPLAY+ or whatever their monthly sub has much newer games on the service that people are interested in.

True and with the help of ubisoft, gog and the community its possible. Am happy to see their older games come here as well. Truth is I will only buy a few games from their catalogue, this the same company for years with asked for their games but all we were given was silence and even now more silence with a I will pass it on note to its higher ups, thats not good enough. I owned ac3 to ac odyssey on uplay and all I wanted was to play those games without a launcher and any pesky drm but NO i got punished so I learnt and discovered gog and then after shut all of my accounts, I have been a supporter of drm-free ever since. Never got those games back though...it was just licenses!!

If it came here, it's very likely that all multiplayer content would be axed for Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, Black Flag and Unity's Co-Op.

I know that I sound like a broken record at this point, but if you haven't yet, please join the Ubisoft server, upvote and comment on this thread. Comments help this thread stay at the top of the feedback channel. Thank you for your interest and support.
