mechmouse: I hate this mentality of some Steam users.
When faced with a flaw or issue with Steam, they come up with the convoluted work around and then act as if its perfectly normal and acceptable.
True.
By the way, Win10 users behave the same..

Steam has one great advantage.

Refunds are easy especially if you discovered the game is not your liking offhand.

They have a grace period in hours to ask for a refund.

That's because Steam can actually take the game away from you. When you do a refund on GOG there is nothing to keep you from keeping the download continue playing. Given how much they rely on the honor system and how easy it is to screw them, I'm shocked GOG has a return policy period.

10 is better than 8

7 is the most rounded, but doesn't have the latest technology supported nor is it as fast as 10.

If I could have 7 with efi boot latest DirectX and support for the latest processor enhancments I'd take 7.

But at it is I'm using 10 with tweaks.

I've got a SSD put but to duel boot with Linux once I get time to install and set up.

If Win10 didn't have all the spyware \ adware \ crap UI \ forced updates \ etc , I would already have installed it.
And the tricks \ tweaks don't seem definitive, so nope.
I don't want to fight with my OS.

Depending on how the linux install goes, I'm likely to ditch Win 10 until it behaves. The forced updates are really annoying.
GOG is clearly my favorite. Only place I actually got involved for a while back when I registered and I still check up on the site, even though I don't buy that many games anymore.

On STEAM I'm not buying any games at all and for those that also have appeared on GOG I hope they'll get GOGConnect :D
Like to have all my games in one place. And DRM-free, of course.
Since I have never bought any games on Steam, I clearly prefer GOG. I do buy from other game sites that sell DRM-free games, such as Humble. The only time I have installed Steam has been to redeem Steam keys from Humble for GOG Connect.

How have you NOT heard of Steam? I'm quite surprised. It's the biggest online PC video game market there is.
