babark: ...
I wish you a good festivity!
By the way, could you tell me more about Eid? I'm interested in its history. :)
Thanks for the link, greeklover! Hopefully it will be helpful to potential poets here!

Sure! It shares history with Judeo-Christian tradition as well.
The story goes that Abraham had a dream where he was commanded to sacrifice his son. When he told his son about this, his son agreed, but just when the sacrifice was about to be completed, God stopped Abraham and provided an animal to sacrifice instead.
Eid-ul-Adha (the Feast of the Sacrifice) commemorates this event every year, where people go perform a pilgrimage to Mecca culminating in the sacrifice of some animal, or people who didn't go to Mecca can sacrifice an animal in their home. The meat is then distributed among the poor, and friends and family.

Different countries have different customs relating to what else is done. You usually dress up, there are congregational prayers in the morning, followed by the sacrifice, then you visit (or host) friends and family, or sometimes you visit the graveyard in remembrance of family that had passed away. Traditionally giving gifts of money to younger relatives is done on the other Eid (the one that marks the end of Ramadan), but as a kid I used to finagle money from my parents on both Eids :D.
Not in, but thanks for the challenge! These poems are really creative.

greeklover: Since people started checking their number, I just used a few syllable check websites and some of them give wrong results, for example they count "she's" as two syllables. This site gave me correct count

Good for most words, but won't work for single letters. My W (dah-bel-you) is counted as 1 syllable.

That you copy every smudge

His heart with joy or some such

You're right and there's no doubt
But you're German, how about
Asking him where's ü umlaut?

I see you are a octopus of taste. That's the one I used to double check mine.

BranjoHello: I'm so old school that I actually used my own fingers. :D
Counting with your own fingers is very interesting anyhow. It is both analog and digital.
Not in, but thanks for the interesting challenge!
These poems are really funny and I have enjoyed reading this creativity. :)

It's such a relief to know that I'm not the only one!
I was writing and counting in train and tried to not look weird... ;)
