Just a heads up - VirgilW have announced that Creeper World 4 is now in very, very early stages of Creeper World 4:

https://knucklecracker.com/blog/index.php/2017/06/valley-of-the-shadow-of-death/

At this stage, nothing at all has been announced about the game itself, apart from the few test screenshots which seems like classical CW in a 3D environment. More info and news as and when they are released.

For those off you who have missed this unique and fantastic series of games, this is the time to catch up with it (You can do so here: http://knucklecracker.com/). The game play is difficult to describe, but as an elevator pitch it can be boiled down to mix of tower defense and RTS against a liquid enemy. It sounds daft, but plays magnificently. CW 3 is among my best 10 games ever made. If you are interested, each installment has a long free demo on the website.

And while this is now announced, may as well have a wishlist entry for it her eat gOg also:

And wishlist entries for the previous games:
CW1 : https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/creeper_world
CW2: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/creeper_world_2_redemption
CW3: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/creeper_world_3_arc_eternal
There's also Particle Fleet: Emergence by same developer. Basically it's Creeper World in space and with space ships.

I'm really getting into Particle World now that there are a ton more community maps, but I think it has a different feel to it. Like it's more about *pressure* rather than *coverage* or something like that. CW is a bit more primitive for your defence too.

I simply love all of them though. Want CW4.
Another update: CREEPER FLUID PHYSICS

http://knucklecracker.com/blog/index.php/2017/06/a-fluid-future/

Oh my. This will be a whole new angle to the game.
Fantastic news! Thanks for sharing! I can't wait!
Ooooooh that's look really cool, look at those Waves ! ... but damn I'm not even finished with Particle Fleet.
new video showing experimental game mechanics -

Looks like the code word this time is "time"
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I love this series.
New video - https://knucklecracker.com/blog/index.php/2017/10/one-does-not-simply-flow-onto-mortars/
(or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S36zw-4E-7A)

Mortars have now been implemented, new way of collecting energy. Showing how the mortars now work with the new fluid dynamics - when you hit a pool of creeper it now creates a splash wave that can do damage, so it needs planing or the waves will overflow structures close to the edge.

At the moment, you can not destroy emitters, but nullifying them. So more similar to CW 1 than CW 2/3. They cna be capped off with cannons (As with CW 1), or use the new suppressors, who blocks the emitters. However, main point is that emitters are still potentially dangerous throughout the map, they are never destroyed.

The splashes terrify me. I can already see my unfortunately placed mortars creating resonating waves...
Time for an update. - https://knucklecracker.com/blog/index.php/2018/01/arsenal-of-freedom/

So there will now be some crafting in the game. At the moment, the video shows two resources (red and blue crystals) being processed in factories to produce new resources. These new resources can then be used to build with or as ammo (as with the anti-creeper) but also go into new production lines to create next level resources.

VirgilW states that he do not want a massively deep crafting system, so don't expect it to become the next Factorio, but it does lead to a bit more depth and resource management in the game. Which I think will be a good thing.

Looking forward to it!
Moar updates - https://knucklecracker.com/blog/index.php/2018/01/machine/

You can see now how it is starting to come together, and how the new factories will work. I was a bit worried, but is this is to go by, it looks like it will work out nicely, not to deep and complicated to concentrate on the good old creeper gameplay, but with a little bit more depth and production.

It is also now easier to see how the game itself will play out in the new 3D environment, and it looks like it is very close to CW3, which is a good thing.
