Bang bang, you blast me down.

Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein - hard to imagine how FPSs would look today without these bad boys paving the way. Whether it's rocket-jumping in front of your friends' face or strafing to avoid making eye contact with a particularly nasty demon, everybody's fond memories are bound to include an awesome bit from the gory arenas of these celebrated id classics.

Now is the best time to brush up on your face-blasting skills - after all, you never know when you'll be called back into action...

I think that Doom 1 and 2 are still among the absolute best shooters you can find around. They never get old, and I find myself replaying them very often, always having a lot of fun.

Not very good, frankly. It really feels like amateur hour, especially after having played Doom 2. I've played better and more fun user mods than Final Doom.

Enebias: I think that Doom 1 and 2 are still among the absolute best shooters you can find around. They never get old, and I find myself replaying them very often, always having a lot of fun.
Not to mention the near infinite amount of user mods. There's always more things to shoot. ;) I'm really grateful Doomworld exists as they're pretty good at picking out the better efforts.

The rules have been relaxed because officials believe that Doom is now only of artistic and scientific interest and will not appeal to youngsters - [BBC] Germany lifts Doom sales ban after 17 years

Yes, i can redeem gift codes for games like Wolfenstein etc. here in germany and i already own them. ;)

It's just a pity that those old games are still on the index.

Well, good for youngsters, now they can legally play it with Brutal Doom - and we are all back at square one :D
