Even with no multiplayer this game remains not only a timeless classic, but an extremely fun and enjoyable piece. It deserves to be preserved and kept in our libraries no mater what could happen to the distribution platforms.

The first game I paid full price for, the first game I played in multiplayer, the game that rekindled my love of gaming as an adult (pun intended). Boy, what a journey it's been. To git gud, the interconnected levels, oh the atmosphere in the forest level, just incredible. I loved exploring, trying out different weapons and builds. And screw you bed of chaos lol.

The game that created a new genre of Action- RPGs. Level design in the first half of the game remains unmatched to this day. Might be strange to say, but now that I have beaten the game I return regularly and it's kind of my 'cozy game'. It's so satisfying to explore. My recommendation for this game is : Everyone should probably try it once in their lives. Yes it's obtuse, yes it's frustrating but it manages to strike a strong balance between that and feeling very rewarding.
This is basically a remaster of the game that started it all; so much so that an entire genre of games was born from it: the "soulslike". It would be a crying shame if this game wasn't ever available on GOG.

My uncle bought me this game, I tested it, and I discovered Solaire, as well as the dragon on the bridge... Today I still haven't finished the game. Praise the Sun.
Dark Souls had a profound impact on my life by teaching me the value of perseverance and resilience. Its challenging gameplay, where every victory feels earned, pushed me to stay determined even when things seemed impossible. The game’s difficulty taught me that failure isn’t a setback, but a learning experience. The dark, atmospheric world of Lordran and its cryptic storytelling made me appreciate subtlety and the beauty in exploration. Dark Souls is a fantastic game because it doesn't hold your hand; it encourages you to learn, adapt, and grow stronger with each challenge. The sense of accomplishment after overcoming its trials is unmatched, and the lessons it imparts—about patience, persistence, and humility—have stayed with me long after finishing the game.

Etrian Odyssey
Etrian OdysseyIn a vast and fertile land lies a small town known as Etria, a peaceful village that became famous for a startling discovery. A crack in the vast forest opened at Etria's edge, leading downward like a gaping maw. It all began there... Your salvation in the labyrinth is in your own hands: Create your own team of adventurers to withstand the maze's fierce battles, while creating your own dungeon maps using the Nintendo DS touch screen outside of combat. Lush 3D graphics and a world-class soundtrack puts an exquisite face on the mortal danger that lurks at every step.

Innovations included the ability to play all the main characters as the game's protagonist, and to this day, its epic story intertwining each of their fates is still highly rated and wildly popular.
