Lost Odyssey

Lost Odyssey (2007)

by Feelplus, Mistwalker, Microsoft Game Studios
Genres:Role-playing (RPG), Turn-based strategy (TBS)
Themes:Open world
Game modes:Single player
Story:Lost Odyssey is set in a world in which a "Magic-Industrial Revolution" is taking place. While magic energy existed in all living creatures beforehand, it suddenly became far more powerful thirty years before the beginning of the game. Because of this, it has affected society greatly, with devices called "Magic Engines" harnessing this power for lighting, automobiles, communication, and robots, among other uses. While previously only a select few could wield magic, many magicians gained the ability. However, such progress has also caused two nations to develop new and more powerful weapons of mass destruction. The kingdom of Gohtza and the Republic of Uhra (which recently converted from a monarchy). Uhra is building Grand Staff, a gigantic magic engine, while the heavily industrialized Gohtza actively pursues magic research of their own. A third nation, the Free Ocean State of Numara, remains isolated and neutral, though it is falling into disarray due to a general attempting to stage a coup d'etat. Uhra, at war with Khent, a nation of beastmen, sends its forces to the Highlands of Wohl for a decisive battle at the start of the game.Show more

Unfortunately, a game now nearly forgotten and stuck on the Xbox 360. Though well received on release, it was held back, at the time, by the hardware limitations of the 360, and is now at risk of being lost to history. With a story that has hints of Final Fantasy 7 and Planescape Torment, an interesting combat and leveling system that pulls together some of the best from other JRPG, an interesting cast of characters, impressive graphics for its day, and music by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu, this is a game that deserves to be preserved.
Literally this is the "Lost" Final Fnatasy trapped in 360. This game rperesents a fresh and spectacular reset for the FF original Team. The carachters have differents growth mechanics because of their nature, they need each other to get stronger. The turn based battles have semi active mechanics in order to do more damage; the difficulty level is challenging and the narrative is complex and uses different techniques to tell its story. This game must to be experience this Magnificent Beast

Easily as good as most Final Fantasy titles, with one of the greatest soundtracks as well. I've kept my Xbox 360 for years with only this game. A thousand years of dreams never fails to bring the feels and these characters have stayed with me for almost 20 years. Having this on GOG would be a godsend to all of us who want to replay it and those who never got a chance to play it!

The true Final Fantasy 13. A game that released on the Xbox 360 has remained trapped on this console and needs a PC port to receive a wider audience because this is a great RPG game by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and composed by the g.o.a.t himself Nobuo Uematsu. I'm sure others can provide information on what this game offers I will talk about other information. Since Square Enix announced they would help bring Mistwalkers Fantasian game over to the PC this was an opportunity to ask Sakaguchi about this title over to the PC or any other console. Unfortunately he said he had no interest. We don't know if Square Enix is aware how much this game is wanted by a vocal minority like myself to come over to the PC and other consoles. This is our chance to list this game to come over on gog or even bring awareness to Square Enix and Mistwalker to bring this game over to the PC and other consoles. Please vote for this game as well as Mistwalkers other games.

This is one of my favorites from the 360 era. The story grabs you and takes you on a Rollercoaster of emotions. Being stuck on only one system is truly tragic and a pc port is very needed

This is truly one of the stellar gems of the Xbox 360. The gameplay is all too familiar to anyone that is a fan of the old-school Final Fantasy games. The developers are known as Mistwalker Studios, Who also created the Blue Dragon series As well as other mobile JRPG's. What's most interesting though? It was founded by Hironobu Sakaguchi. The creator of the Final Fantasy series. Many old-school Final Fantasy fans Say that this is the last great Final Fantasy game, despite not even being a part of the series. With Nobou Uematsu Composing the music for this amazing game, You could name this one Final Fantasy And it would fit right at home. Combat is standard turn based With an interesting twist, There is a ring system Where upon Selecting an attack, A literal ring will appear on the screen, prompting the player to stop the ring just in time to land on a specific target on the screen Allowing the player to do more damage than normal. These rings are also how you Improve certain stats and gain certain status effects for your weapons. In addition, you have accessories that you can clip onto your party That will teach them certain abilities that you improve by gaining what's called ability points, or AP. Now for the best part, You play as immortals in this game that have lived for thousands of years and now have to uncover the dark secret of your past in order to save the world that you live in. Certain members of your party are not immortals, And only have a static number of abilities that they can learn however the members of your parties that are immortals Learn all of their abilities from your non-immortal companions. Thus allowing an amazing amount of customization. The opening is single-handedly the greatest opening to any video game I've ever seen in my life. I refuse to spoil it. Please go check it out for yourself if you can. Lastly many stories play out in text form called 1000 years of Dreams And has some of the best storytelling of all time.

Truly a game that deserves to get recognition and love to this day, an unforgettable cast of characters and a story that I cherished even at 4 years old watching my brother play. I would love to be able to relive this game and play it for myself one day.
I haven't stopped thinking about this game since the first time I played it. The way certain characters learned and managed their skills felt so unique, the mechanic of a front line defending a back row was easy to grasp, and timed input attacks in turn-based combat is always welcome. It's funny that after playing FF8 you notice how similar those two games are in small ways. Also it's great to have a game from this era use the "amnesia" trope to actually do something interesting and emotionally impactful through the game and not just use it as the setup for a single twist reveal. Mistwalker feels like it's been getting the short end of history for a long time and no one is seeing how good they've been.
Those games also need your vote!

Perihelion: The Prophecy
Perihelion: The ProphecyThe six characters under your control in this visually exotic RPG have been genetically engineered so as to be resistant to a virus which has been spread by an evil being in the futuristic land of Perihelion. The character races include Bionecrons, Symbions and various cross-breeds. The gameplay is controlled from a set of initial icons, with each character's vital statistics accessible from this screen as well as inventory, combat and travel options. Large distances can be traversed simply by issuing directions and letting the characters follow them. The cities have very detailed buildings, but there is little variety between them. Combat is a regular feature of the game, although its occurance is always planned and controlled.

Parasite Eve II
Parasite Eve IIParasite Eve II is an action role-playing survival horror video game released exclusively for the PlayStation. The game was developed by Square and published in Japan in 1999 and in both North America and, unlike the previous game, in PAL regions in 2000. It is the sequel to Parasite Eve and the second game in the series of the same name. Parasite Eve II is set several years after the events in the original game. The protagonist from the first game, Aya Brea, also features in this game as the playable character. She becomes involved with another outbreak of Mitochondrial creatures. Gameplay diverges from the previous game: battles take place in real time and the area of action is less restrictive. The approach is more typical of traditional survival horror games, although some role-playing elements are retained.

Monster Hunter 2
Monster Hunter 2Monster Hunter 2 has an improved weapon tree and upgradeable armors. As in all Monster Hunter games, armor pieces can be worn to obtain skills and abilities. A new feature in Monster Hunter 2 is the use of gems. Gems add skill points to complement those added by armor and weapons. Gems are created by combining ore and/or monster parts. Gems can be attached and detached from armor and weapons that have special gem slots. Along with the various species of monster returning from the first Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter 2 contains many new monsters, such as the metallic wind dragon Kushala Daora, the lion-headed dragon Teo Teskatoru (named Teostra in the North American and PAL versions of Monster Hunter Freedom 2) and his female counterpart Nana Teskatory (named Lunastra in the North American and PAL versions of MHF2), the primates Babakonga and Dodobrango (Congalala and Blangonga in MHF2), the bull or minotaur-like monster Rajang, and the chameleon-like dragon Oonazuchi (Chameleos in MHF2). With new monsters also comes the prospect of new weapons and armor.
