Why is it that every single game is being released with performance issues, is this not properly tested or what?

I'm watching a guy with a system thats alot worse than mine run it smoother by ALOT..

my rig is as follows:

i7 920 2,66ghz OC'd @ 4ghz
6gb DDR3 1600mhz memory
2x AMD 6950's

While this person im watching streaming has a single GTX 470 and hes averaging atleast 50-60 fps on max detail... I mean... really??????

Oh and yes I've read the sticky -> turning it to windowed mode gave me 5 more fps which is about rougly 25 fps now for me; turning it to low or ultra makes no difference in framerate its the exact same framerate..

Is this being worked on or what?

I honestly looked forward to this game so much only to get fucked over by Nvidia favoritism once again.

And I can't wait to get screwed over in AMD favoritism in Deus Ex, it sucks man. But I am sure a patch for optimization is in the works.

However it has been said that if you run in windowed mode it should perform better.

Yeah I've tried that like I said in original post but it barely helps at all, gave me maybe a 5-8 fps boost and I still only average 30~ fps with Ultra sampling turned off, shadows on low, AA off and a whole bunch of other options turned down..

It's a shame really :(

Did you disable UberSampling, SSAO and Depth of Field on all three options (cinematics, cutscenes and gameplay) manually?

Did you try with vsync on or off?

Xaros:
Didn't you read the readme notes... it sucks with cross fire and sli rigs (for now)

I'm running everything on max except the Uber setting and bloom (I hate that) and always getting 60FPS(vsync) only have gtx570 (OC) I had to lower my rez from 1920x1200 to 1600x900( cause I sit close to my monitor) so its not the game as far as I'm concerned!!

Do you pc game much or no? This is like par for the course with pc gaming when new games come out. I gave up on nvidia since most of the old games I play always have issues with their cards.
I'd look at lowering your OC. Yeah, I know, it's pobably stable, but you never know. It may make a difference (although seeing how ATI cards seem to be having issues, it probably won't). Worth a try, if you're willing to go to the trouble.
Did you read the readme.txt and follow the instructions regarding SLI setups an the fact that they are slowing ith game down? Might need to try that if you haven't.
the game is probably not yet able to use more than 1 GPU, functioning in 8x instead of 16x (just a theory)

You could try temporarily removing the second graphic card (at the top bottom) and storing it somewhere safe. It could potentially alleviate the problems until sli and crossfire are supported.

Could someone actually try this and report results?
I have:
i7 920
12gb of ram
1x GTX 580
X-Fi sound card, but only 2.1's
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
running @ 1920 x 1080

Ran a bit slow at Ultra, so i turned off "Uber sampling" (which is apparently the biggest hit) and turned off AA as my native resolution is high enough that jaggies aren't a huge issue and left everything else on the ultra settings.

And man what a difference! *very* high fps now, ultra playable :)

Might not help you... but works for me (i haven't updated to the new beta drivers either just fyi)
ATI cards are nearly always shit for performance and glitches on release of most games. Make sure you update your drivers, or maybe revert 4 versions, usually fixes it.

C17: AMD favoritism
Yes, because we all have $500 to spend on Intel chips, rather than the just-as-good-for-less AMD chips.

I don't see anything at all about SLI configurations in the readme.txt or readme.rtf files. They do indicate that AMD Crossfire rigs may actually reduce performance, but no mention of SLI (which is proprietary to NVIDIA cards).

That being said, I did try disabling SLI on my rig and saw a slight (~5 fps) framerate drop. But either way I'm seeing framerates as high as 45 but as low as 20.
i5-2500k 8gb ddr3, radeon 6950 here

I'm getting 40-60FPS with everything on absolute maximum aside from ubersampling.

Sandy Bridge i5-2500k and i7-2600k are the 2 best processors out there, i5-2500k is only $220, its cheaper than nehalem i5/i7's and like 30% better performing. It's quite amazing considering the price really.

I'm running it with an intel i7 860 4 gig of 2133 memory and a Sapphire Toxic 5850 on Win 7 64 and the game is graphically lovely, frame rates are fine. I have selected high and tweaked a few settings towards max. It is just the nature of the industry to release games (at launch optimised for a particular video card) for either Nvidia or AMD. Look at DA2, it had a horrific launch for many Nvidia cards and good on AMD. I'm happy at the moment, accept their difficulty settings need to be reappraised... have fun.
