As the topic says, I've downloaded and installed the game. I've even registered and downloaded the troll trouble dlc.

Upon clicking the launch game option though from the launcher, the launcher dissapears and I get a pop-up in the bottom right of the screen mentioning the launcher. Also, A circular icon appears in the middle of the screen (assumingly meaning that the game is launching).

However, the circular icon dissapears and the launcher appears. So currently, I'm unable to play the game.

Are there any suggestions? And is this happening to anyone else?

Yes happened to me - you get a message saying "Use launcher to activate game"?

Currently I'm reinstalling the game as I got some error messages during the first instal

This is also happening to me.

installed game
Registered
Click "Launch Game"
Circular icon appears
"witcher2.exe" appears in task manager
Nothing. "witcher2.exe" silently fails.

My system drivers are up-to-date
I've installed all of the updates and patches from: http://www.en.thewitcher.com/support/faq/#t8

specs:
Two intel Quad CPUs (@ 2.3 GHz)
Radeon 4870 HD
16 GB ram

I was having the same problem. I noticed the readme linked from the launcher says that "some AMD cards may not allow you to play the game in fullscreen mode". I tried switching the video options to windowed and the game started for me. I'm running two ATI 6950s in CrossfireX mode on Windows 7 x66, with the Catalyst 11.5a drivers.

I have NVidia card and drivers should be up to date as I did a complete wipe and reinstalled XP two days ago. I'll still try what's suggested though regarding booting it up in windowed mode.

Nvidia 590 here and same problem, nothing happens after launch.

Only way to run the game is in windowed mode.

Perhaps a little of betatesting with different configs first? This really leaves a bitter taste after such a long wait.

Launching in windowed mode bypasses the problem but I really don't want to play like this.

Windows 7 64
Nvidia GTX570, latest WHQL drivers
Fails on any fullscreen resolution.

Same problem here, fullscreen does not work, windowed does.

NVidia GTX580 with 270.61 drivers (newest).
Vista X64

This is really annoying, and need to be fixed immediately!

With people giving their graphic card details and in case CDProjekt looks into it, my card is NVidia Gefore 9600 GT.

Seems like people with AMD cards are having the same problem though?

Window or fullscreen, the game does not launch for me. AMD 6850 card here.

edit: Nevermind, I don't believe that it's related to aspect ratio.
