It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

hansschmucker: Just in case somebody didn't notice: The beta is back up with fresh serials - Even gave me two (no idea why, but what the hevk). Word of warning: Apparently Microsoft assumes that browsers are incapable of downloading such a large file (they really shouldn't judge others by Internet Explorer standards) and therefore requires you to use either an ActiveX or Java based download manager.
this i found was the case with the vista beta, but they also had an optional torrent..
Really? I'm pretty sure downloaded the vista beta dvd iso through straight http. Then again I had access to a fibre line at the time, man that was a sweet download experience...
Be warned, though. XKCD already tried the beta, and it doesn't look good :-D

And the worst thing is that I would agree.

I installed andI tried Fallout 3 on Windows 7 Beta 1 and game is running great without any problems. Also it is running better than Windows Vista. I tried 2 GOG.com as well Freespace 1/2 and they are running fine too. Microsoft did a great job, Win 7 will be a great OS I think for gaming. Here is the GOG.com on Windows 7. :P

idle, what is your memory useage?
Lol.... that view is probably the single most useless Vista feature. They tried to copy Exposé, but as usual got it entirely wrong. Luckily, the composite manager can be used for useful stuff as well and one Microsoft drone has created switcher, a working Exposé copy with it.

Weclock: idle, what is your memory useage?

It is showing 590 MB now.
Also My System is:
Intel Pentium IV 2.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, NVIDIA 7900 GS 256 MB RAM, Creative X-FI XTREMEGAMER Sound Card.

Who cares? It's idle, you're not using it. As long as it gives up the RAM once you open up something bigger.

Obviously, I care. For why? my own reasons. No need to be a dick.

KingofGnG: I'm perfectly fine with XP for now, thanks, and frankly I've got better things to do than wasting my time on a stripped-down version of Win sVista plus a new taskbar.
I hate marketing....

Same here. I'm absolutely happy with XP.
Oh and I don't like the new aero view in both Vista and 7. You can switch back windows classic but toolbars and adress bar are still shaped diffrently from Windows XP Classic style.

They didn't get it wrong and it quite clearly works, just look at the photo!! Jesus!!
Why do people have to so virulently attack something they obviously know little about?
Trust me when I say this: about 40% of all Vista users, both on new and existing systems had major issues.

You haven't got the faintest idea what you're talking about ! Where did that nugget come from?
You are quite obviously always going to have a negative opinion no matter what. Shameless Microsoft bashing and it's boring TBH.

I've used it, and I've seen a whole room full of ,net fans use it day in, day out, and not even those could find any use for that view!
As for Vista, yes I do have a negative opinion, but it's not because I enjoy Microsoft bashing, but because I actually bought the darn thing and the state it was in was nothing short of appalling. And that "feature" really doesn't work... try to count how many times you used it after the initial thrill has worn off. The composite manager is great, and Switcher shows rather well what could have been done with it, but that view is ... not ... useful.
Edit: If you're talking about the 40% number.... that's just an unscientific observation, based on the amount of errors I've seen on the computer screens around me.... I was studying media/IT at the time.
Edit 2: The reason that view is absolutely worthless is that if you have more than 3 windows open, the first one will cover up too much of the other windows to identify them. Vista's Alt+Tab on the other hand displays the previews side by side, so that they can be identified. That's one example where it does make sense.

OH GOD THIS IS AWESOME. ITS LIKE IM REALLY USING A MAC.
In all seriousness this is amazing stuff, just the magnitude of adjustments, tweaks, and streamlining has blown me away. My memory usage has been cut in half.
Now I just need to install some stupid network card drivers and get on the internet...
