It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

IE8 made me permanently switch to FireFox. :-P
A little quicker, but two plugins I use (TabMixPlus and BlockSite) are not ready/finalised for 3.5 yet. I'll struggle along without them for the time being, as I want to test out some of the newer features.
I'll grab a portable version at work, for areas where PCs are locked down and restricted to IE6 (or worse IE5.5).

TheJoe: Firefox 3.5 is out.
I'm posting this because everyone else seems to like posting things like this, I think I said exactly the same thing about the RC.
Anyway, it's good. Go get. Now hurl those tomatoes of browser supremacy +2 agil. at me.

Hey cool, thanks for the heads-up!
I'm using 3.5 now. I have been waiting a long time for this - it has some very nice features new to firefox:
Text-shadow
Box-shadow
Border-image
Web fonts
Did they touch up the icon? Looks good. The only extensions I use which are not compatible are All-In-One Gestures and Rightbar.
I like 3.5 a lot so far.

domgrief: And there I was thinking that this would be some retro flashback to when 3.5" floppies were introduced :(

Haha, here is South Africa we referred to those as "stiffies", because they weren't floppy at all. It worked out better that way because the word "floppy" could be misconstrued and cause offense. Oh the irony :P

Seems new (and not-so-new) CSS features rather than FF features to me. As said in the links, I can already see some of them with Safari.
But there are some cool effects indeed, glad to see that some of them will not require to make an image anymore.

Yes, that's what I meant by "new to firefox". The Webkit team has implemented (and even proposed) some great features and now that Gecko has these too we can start seeing them being used more in the wild.
I wonder how they're doing for transition, css gradient, multiple background image and xhtml2 support.

The new CSS improvements are great, and come at the time when I relearn web design.
Alas, I'm a cross-compatibility whore. Things like downloadable fonts and others I will not be able to use, because IE8 doesn't support them (I think). Will definitely have to make use of <video> though.
i'm usually all chromed out
but firefox has that sweet, sweet twitter plugin goodness that i need so much
I never thought I'd bother switching from IE to FF, but I'm glad I did, and I've never looked back.
It was the Ad Block that pulled me in though. I was tired of sites loading adverts before content.
I'll definately be getting 3.5.
Besides, I can't get Chrome, cos I really dislike Google.
I've updated to 3.5 on my netbook, and I think its running a little faster. I think I switched from IE to Firefox when I installed Windows 2000.
Gave Chrome a go, but I never really 'got' it, so I went back to Firefox.

soulgrindr: while IE5 and 6 were crimes against the internet, to be homest IE8 isn't at all bad. Of course, that's because they were loosing all their customers to Firefox, so they borrowed all their ideas. (but then again, firefox borrowed most of it's ideas from Opera).
I don't want to mess with Chrome. Google really didn't need to muddy the waters by introducing YET ANOTHER browser for sites to have to test and support... it was bad enough already.
My personal feeling is that google are just using chrome to influence Firefox in the way they want it to go. Google already gives money to Firefox... and all the features from chrome are gonna get integrated into FF within a few months anyway.. doesn't seem worth the switch.

Muddy the waters? Free choices are good things, last time I checked, which is also one of the main arguments straight from Google regarding the reasons that they chose to put out a browser. I think if you read their introductory comic you'll get a much better feel for the browser than if you simply dismiss it.

I can't it's all in japanese... my japanese reading isn't good enough to breeze through a 30 page comic about a web broswer.
If you make websites then another browser definitely muddies the waters. Personally i think google knows this and doesn't expect chrome to be a big market share anyway... it just wants to use it to drive FF and IE in the direction it wants. Considering many of the features of chrome have made it into FF3.5 already, i think their plan is working.
About five addons don't work anymore.
I used Chrome and didn't like it. Not faster than Firefox by a noticeable amount. Opera annoyed me for some strange reason.
I like 3.5; not a huge change, but functional and working. My two plugins, Adblock Plus and Downthemall, still work fine.
A successful upgrade on my computer, all things considered.

Probably fine if you edit the ol' install.whateveritis hidden away in the .xpi
